Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 4,005 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the full 4,005 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 587 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 01 at M08 Whitehurst, where the aircraft, a Honda HA420, took off with a takeoff distance of 2,637 feet, which was 53% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 140 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 64°F and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°, resulting in a negligible crosswind and headwind.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb 1 mile north of M08 Whitehurst Bolivar, Tennessee, and ascended from an altitude of 1,445 feet above sea level to 5,504 feet above sea level, an increase of 4,059 feet in just 4 minutes, covering a distance of 15 nautical miles. The climb was a testament to the aircraft's impressive performance capabilities.
After reaching the desired altitude, the aircraft began its enroute descent 6 miles north of TN37 Anderson Airport Toone, Tennessee. The descent from 5,506 feet above sea level to 1,663 feet above sea level, a decrease of 3,843 feet in 5 minutes, covered a distance of 16 nautical miles. This phase of the flight demonstrated the aircraft's ability to efficiently transition from a high altitude to a lower one.
The final approach to runway 04 at M53 Humboldt Mun was made from the southwest, heading 44.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,241 feet above ground level. The landing was executed with precision, and the aircraft touched down on the runway with a touchdown distance of 587 feet, which was within the acceptable range. The touchdown speed was slightly above the target at 100 knots, but the touchdown rate was firm at -364 feet per minute.
The landing was completed with a total landing distance of 1,745 feet, which was 44% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was well under control during the landing phase. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area from the runway in less than 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 37 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 16 minutes, during which the aircraft used no fuel. The flight was a testament to the Honda HA420's impressive performance capabilities, including its ability to efficiently climb, descend, and land.
The Honda HA420 aircraft successfully landed at M53 Humboldt Mun, achieving a score of 98.3%. The final approach to runway 04 was conducted from the south-west, with a heading of 44.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,241 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 104 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. The touchdown distance of 587 feet was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown speed of 100 knots was a little fast, suggesting that the pilot may have been able to maintain a more optimal speed during the approach.
The touchdown rate of -364 feet per minute was firm, indicating a controlled and stable landing. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and precision in navigating the aircraft to the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 59°F and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°.
The crosswind and tailwind components were both 1 knot, which had a minimal impact on the landing. The total landing distance of 1,745 feet was 44% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft touching down smoothly and coming to a stop in a controlled manner. The pilot's skills and experience were evident in the precision and control demonstrated during the approach and landing phases.
