Departure
Start bringing the nose up as the speed reaches 84 kt, not after it.
What happened: You started the rotation at 105 kt, 21 kt past the 84 kt rotation speed.
Watch for: Airspeed indicator: 84 kt at rotation

Arrival
Carry more power on approach to hold 85 kt at the threshold instead of letting speed decay into the flare.
What happened: The flare arrested the sink at 17 ft while already below the speed target, and the aircraft settled as the remaining energy ran out, usually carrying a firm touchdown with it at 160 fpm.
Watch for: Watch airspeed on short final against 85 kt, keeping it there through the flare.
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: seven checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply. These checks are the approach's score.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,284 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 524 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Pilatus PC-12 taxied from its parking position to runway 05R at NZAA Auckland International Airport in less than 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nm.
During the departure roll on runway 05R, the aircraft accelerated to a liftoff speed of 109 kt and became airborne after a take-off run of 718 m, representing 22 % of the runway length. Ambient conditions were 18 °C with a wind from 020° at 16 kt, including a 12 kt cross-wind component and a 10 kt head-wind component.
The approach phase began with a right-hand pattern entry from runway 05R, a segment of less than 1 nm completed in 27 seconds, followed by a right-hand cross-wind leg of 1 nm in 28 seconds. The downwind turn covered 2 nm at an angle of 91.2° to the runway, after which the downwind leg extended 4 nm and lasted 129 seconds. The base-leg turn spanned 4 nm with a 40.2° angle to the runway, and the subsequent base leg measured 2 nm in 65 seconds. The final turn added another 2 nm in 67 seconds, positioning the aircraft for the final approach from the southwest on a heading of 66.0° at 2 nm and 739 ft AGL.
Landing was executed on runway 05R, whose total length is 3 284 m. The threshold speed was 84 kt, and touchdown occurred 89 m beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 79 kt. The aircraft’s vertical speed at touchdown was minus 148 fpm, and alignment with the runway centreline was recorded as perfect. Weather at the time of landing was 16 °C with a wind from 009° at 21 kt, comprising a 19 kt cross-wind and a 10 kt head-wind. The total landing distance measured 676 m, equivalent to 21 % of the runway.
Rollout proceeded with very good alignment, and the aircraft decelerated along the runway after the 676 m landing roll.
In total, the flight covered 15 nm, took 8 (unspecified units), and consumed 49 kg of fuel.
The final approach to runway 05R at NZAA Auckland International Airport was flown from the south-west on a heading of 66.0° at 2 nm and 739 ft agl. The approach was assessed as stabilised at the 1,000 ft gate, with gear, flaps, sink rate, glideslope and centreline all within limits.
During the threshold and flare segment the aircraft maintained a good threshold speed of 84 kt. The aircraft crossed the runway threshold and the touchdown point was recorded 89 m beyond the touchdown zone.
Touchdown occurred at a speed of 79 kt, described as good, with a smooth touchdown rate of minus 148 fpm and runway touchdown alignment perfect.
Rollout was completed with runway rollout alignment very good, the aircraft traveling a total landing distance of 676 m, representing 21 % of the 3,284 m runway.
Minor refinement of the flare timing to place the main-gear touchdown within the designated touchdown zone would tighten the already strong performance, while maintaining the current speed and alignment practices that produced the 94.8 % score.
