MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 5,722 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 5,722 ft of the 8,902 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 2,125 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 28 at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (KBWI). The takeoff distance was 4,674 feet, which was 50% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 157 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 77°F and a wind speed of 9 knots from a direction of 278°.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb 1 mile southeast of Hanover, Maryland, and ascended from an altitude of 1,168 feet above sea level to 36,102 feet above sea level, an increase of 34,935 feet, in 23 minutes and covering a distance of 144 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then began overhead Scottdale, Pennsylvania, and lasted for 51 minutes, covering a distance of 348 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started overhead Muskegon County Airport (KMKG) in Muskegon, Michigan, and descended from 36,013 feet above sea level to 2,907 feet above sea level, a decrease of 33,106 feet, in 19 minutes and covering a distance of 55 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise, this time starting 17 miles east of Shorewood, Wisconsin, and lasting for 14 minutes, covering a distance of 19 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 19R at General Mitchell International Airport (KMKE) was made from the north, heading 187.0°, at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,244 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 19R, which had a length of 8,902 feet. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 66°F and a wind speed of 3 knots from a direction of 160°.
The touchdown point was 758 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 131 knots, which was good. The touchdown rate was also good at -192 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The total landing distance was 5,455 feet, which was 61% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking from the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 576 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 122 minutes. The aircraft used a total of 12,278 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at General Mitchell International Airport (KMKE) on runway 19R, achieving a high score of 96.6%. The final approach was initiated from the north, heading 187.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,244 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a steady course, aligning perfectly with the runway for a smooth touchdown.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 758 feet beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is considered a good threshold height. The threshold speed was also within the acceptable range at 139 knots. The touchdown speed of 131 knots was also satisfactory, indicating a controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -192 feet per minute (fpm) was also good, signifying a gentle and stable landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 66°F and a gentle wind of 3 knots at 160°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 3 knots, which helped to stabilize the aircraft during the landing. The total landing distance of 5,455 feet was 61% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll.
The runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's skill and control during the landing. The aircraft maintained a stable and aligned path during the rollout, ensuring a safe and controlled stop at the end of the runway. Overall, the landing was a success, with the aircraft executing a smooth and controlled touchdown, and the pilot demonstrating excellent flying skills.
