MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Smooth the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,520 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,520 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 346 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 07 at CYDF Deer Lake Airport, with a takeoff distance of 599 meters, which was 25% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 98 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 3 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 24 knots at 30 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 23 knots. The aircraft climbed from 1,040 feet above sea level to 20,132 feet above sea level, an increase of 19,092 feet, in 16 minutes and covering 26 nautical miles.
After reaching the cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which started 26 miles north of CYDF Deer Lake Airport and lasted for 102 minutes, covering 382 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 44 miles northwest of CZUM Churchill Falls Airport, and descended from 20,766 feet above sea level to 6,886 feet above sea level, a decrease of 13,880 feet, in 9 minutes and covering 35 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which started 43 miles southeast of CYKL Schefferville Airport and lasted for 6 minutes, covering 20 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 22 miles southeast of CYKL Schefferville Airport, and descended from 5,952 feet above sea level to 3,785 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,167 feet, in 2 minutes and covering 6 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which started 15 miles southeast of CYKL Schefferville Airport and lasted for 6 minutes, covering 11 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 35 at CYKL Schefferville Airport was from the southeast, with a heading of 329.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,258 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 35 at CYKL Schefferville Airport was successful, with a runway length of 1,520 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 93 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 346 meters, but the touchdown speed was fast at 83 knots. The touchdown rate was smooth at -128 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of -9 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 13 knots at 339 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 13 knots. The total landing distance was 803 meters, which was 53% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 487 nautical miles, which was covered in 154 minutes, and the aircraft used 259 kilograms of fuel.
The aircraft, identified as an M500, successfully landed at CYKL Schefferville Airport, achieving a high score of 98.2%. The final approach to runway 35 was initiated from the south east, with a heading of 329.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,258 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft demonstrated good control and precision, touching down on the runway at a speed of 93 knots, which was within the acceptable threshold speed range. The touchdown distance of 346 meters was also satisfactory, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown speed of 83 knots was slightly faster than expected, which may require some adjustments to the pilot's approach and landing technique.
The landing rate of -128 feet per minute was smooth and well-controlled, indicating a stable and consistent descent. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft aligning itself precisely with the centerline of the runway. This is a testament to the pilot's skill and experience in navigating the aircraft during the final approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of -9°C and a wind speed of 13 knots from a direction of 339°. The crosswind component was minimal, at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 13 knots, which was beneficial for the landing. The total landing distance of 803 meters was 53% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll.
The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, with the aircraft maintaining its alignment with the centerline of the runway throughout the rollout phase. This suggests that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft and smoothly transition from the landing phase to the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was a success, with the aircraft demonstrating good control, precision, and stability throughout the entire process.
