MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,395 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 395 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A320 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at GCXO Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna Airport. This process took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. Once at the runway, the aircraft departed from runway 12, taking off with a takeoff distance of 1,677 meters, which was 49% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 158 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of a temperature of 24°C and a wind speed of 13 knots at a direction of 110°. The crosswind was negligible, but the aircraft had a significant headwind of 13 knots. The enroute climb started overhead La Laguna, with the aircraft ascending from 3,010 feet above sea level to 7,648 feet above sea level, an increase of 4,638 feet in just 4 minutes, covering a distance of 17 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 7 miles northeast of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The descent from 7,713 feet above sea level to 6,999 feet above sea level resulted in a decrease of 714 feet in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a level cruise, starting 2 miles northeast of Tegueste, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another descent, starting 6 miles north of Tacoronte. The descent from 7,008 feet above sea level to 4,002 feet above sea level resulted in a decrease of 3,006 feet in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of 13 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise, starting 9 miles north of Puerto de la Cruz, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 5 miles northwest of La Matanza de Acentejo. The descent from 4,017 feet above sea level to 3,069 feet above sea level resulted in a decrease of 948 feet in just 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 12 at GCXO Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna Airport, heading 111.0° at an altitude of 1,027 feet above ground level and a distance of 3 nautical miles from the runway.
The aircraft landed on runway 12, with a runway length of 3,395 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 139 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 397 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 134 knots. The touchdown rate was hard at -470 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.3 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 21°C and a wind speed of 12 knots at a direction of 110°, with no crosswind but a headwind of 12 knots. The total landing distance was 1,107 meters, which was 33% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good.
After landing, the aircraft taxiied to the parking area from the runway, taking 2 minutes and covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 61 nautical miles, taking 25 minutes, and the aircraft used 875 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna Airport, achieving a high score of 95.3%. The aircraft approached the runway from the west, heading 111.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,027 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good control, and the aircraft touched down on runway 12, which has a length of 3,395 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed of 139 knots was also within the acceptable range. However, the touchdown speed of 134 knots was slightly higher than desired, indicating that the pilot may have applied a bit more power during the flare. The touchdown rate of -470 feet per minute (fpm) was considered hard, suggesting that the aircraft may have touched down with a bit too much energy.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 3.3 meters, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the pilot's alignment during the approach. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 21°C and a headwind of 12 knots at 110°. The crosswind was negligible, with a speed of 0 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,107 meters was 33% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, and the pilot demonstrated good control and management of the aircraft during the approach and landing phases.
