Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 3,852 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the full 3,852 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,043 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took approximately 1 minute and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a PA28 Arrow III, then departed from runway 35 at KBTF Skypark Airport. The takeoff distance was 673 feet, which accounted for 17% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 67 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of takeoff were characterized by a temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 9 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 11 knots. The pilot then entered a right-hand pattern from runway 35, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile in 22 seconds.
As the aircraft continued in the right-hand pattern, it encountered a crosswind from runway 35, which it navigated in 32 seconds over a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The pilot then executed a pattern downwind turn, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles at an angle of 48.0 degrees to the runway. The downwind leg itself covered a distance of 3 nautical miles in 89 seconds.
The pilot then turned onto the base leg, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles at an angle of 47.5 degrees to the runway. The base leg itself covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile in 33 seconds. The pilot then turned onto the final approach, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile in 33 seconds.
The final approach to runway 35 was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 359.0 degrees at an altitude of 1 nautical mile and 379 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with the aircraft touching down on the runway at a speed of 61 knots. The touchdown distance was 1,035 feet, which was 41% of the runway length.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit and a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 9 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 11 knots. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also perfect. The total landing distance was 1,580 feet.
The total flight distance was 9 nautical miles, and the flight took approximately 8 minutes to complete. The aircraft used 4 pounds of fuel during the flight. Overall, the flight was successful, with the pilot executing a smooth and controlled landing on runway 35 at KBTF Skypark Airport.
The PA28 Arrow III aircraft successfully landed at KBTF Skypark Airport, demonstrating exceptional piloting skills. The final approach to runway 35 from the south was executed with precision, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 359.0° at 1 nautical mile and 379 feet above ground level (agl). This approach was likely a visual approach, given the good threshold height and the pilot's ability to maintain alignment with the runway.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft performed well, with a threshold speed of 70 knots being achieved. The touchdown distance of 1,035 feet was also within acceptable limits, indicating that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent. The touchdown speed of 61 knots was slightly below the typical threshold speed, but still within a safe range. The most impressive aspect of the landing was the touchdown rate, which was an excellent -87 feet per minute (fpm). This indicates that the pilot had excellent control over the aircraft's descent and was able to touch down smoothly.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 77°F and a wind of 11 knots at 9°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind component was 11 knots, which helped to reduce the landing distance. The total landing distance of 1,580 feet was 41% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, indicating that the pilot had maintained control over the aircraft's direction and speed during the rollout phase. Overall, this landing was a testament to the pilot's skill and experience, and demonstrates the capabilities of the PA28 Arrow III aircraft.
