MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,345 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 689 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 18 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A321, then departed from runway 24 at LEIB Ibiza Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,312 meters, which accounted for 47% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 174 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 20°C temperature and winds of 13 knots at 209 degrees. The crosswind was 7 knots, while the headwind was 11 knots. The enroute climb started overhead LEIB Ibiza Airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,034 feet above sea level to 33,679 feet above sea level, an increase of 32,645 feet in 19 minutes, covering a distance of 109 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began 23 miles east of LEDT Deltebre Airport and lasted for 83 minutes, covering a distance of 549 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 4 miles west of Bretteville-sur-Ay, France, and descended from 32,200 feet above sea level to 3,682 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,518 feet in 21 minutes, covering a distance of 129 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise, this time starting overhead Godalming, England, and lasting for 11 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The enroute descent began overhead Godalming, with the aircraft descending from 3,682 feet above sea level to 2,416 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,266 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another enroute level cruise, starting overhead West Clandon, England, and lasting for 5 minutes, covering 18 nautical miles. The enroute descent began 2 miles northwest of Earlsfield, England, with the aircraft descending from 2,437 feet above sea level to 1,373 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,064 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 27L at EGLL London Heathrow Airport was from the east, with the aircraft heading 270.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,287 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 27L, which had a length of 3,345 meters, was successful, with the threshold height being slightly above target and the threshold speed being good at 129 knots.
The touchdown point was 295 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 122 knots and a touchdown rate of -170 feet per minute, both of which were good. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 7.8 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 9°C temperature and winds of 8 knots at 200 degrees, with a crosswind of 7 knots and a headwind of 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,269 meters, which accounted for 38% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.2 meters from the centreline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight distance was 825 nautical miles, taking 142 minutes, and the aircraft used 7,195 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed on runway 27L at EGLL London Heathrow Airport, achieving a score of 90.8%. The final approach was initiated from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,287 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft successfully touched down on the runway, with a touchdown speed of 122 knots, which was within the acceptable range.
The threshold height at 57 feet agl was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed of 129 knots was good. The touchdown point was 295 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which indicates that the aircraft landed slightly down the runway. The touchdown rate of -170 feet per minute (fpm) was also good, indicating a controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 9°C, with a wind speed of 8 knots at 200°. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. These conditions did not appear to have a significant impact on the landing.
The total landing distance was 1,269 meters, which is 38% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down and stop within a reasonable distance. However, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 7.8 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach path.
During the rollout, the aircraft was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 8.2 meters. This may have been due to a combination of factors, including the initial misalignment during touchdown and any subsequent deviations during the rollout. Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the ideal approach and touchdown.
