Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,389 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,389 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 494 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the departure roll from runway 08 at BINF Norðfjörður Airport, where the aircraft, a Black Square Starship N45FL, took off with a liftoff speed of 110 kt. The takeoff distance was 842 meters, which accounted for 76% of the runway. The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 16 °C and a wind speed of 10 kt at 19 °, resulting in a 7 kt headwind and a 7 kt crosswind.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it began its enroute climb from 1,011 ft above sea level (asl) to 7,615 ft asl, an increase of 6,604 ft in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nm. The climb started overhead Neskaupstadur in Austurland, Iceland. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which lasted for 55 minutes and covered a distance of 217 nm. This cruise phase took place 2 miles north of Neskaupstadur.
The aircraft then began its enroute descent from 7,948 ft asl to 2,040 ft asl, a decrease of 5,908 ft in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 18 nm. This descent started 2 miles east of BIAE Arngerðareyri Airport in Arngerðareyri, Vestfirdir, Iceland. After the initial descent, the aircraft entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nm. This cruise phase took place 6 miles east of Isafjoerdur in Vestfirdir, Iceland.
The final descent phase began 2 miles northeast of Isafjoerdur and took the aircraft from 1,540 ft asl to 66 ft asl, a decrease of 1,474 ft in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nm. The aircraft then landed on runway 08 at BIIS Ísafjörður Airport, which had a length of 1,389 meters. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 10 °C and a wind speed of 21 kt at 50 °, resulting in a 4 kt crosswind and a 20 kt headwind.
The landing was successful, with a touchdown distance of 402 meters, which was 46% of the runway. The touchdown speed was a little fast at 113 kt, but the touchdown rate was fair at -241 fpm. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was also very good. The total landing distance was 634 meters. The total flight distance was 248 nm, and the flight duration was 71 minutes. The aircraft used 503 kg of fuel during the flight.
The aircraft, Black Square Starship N45FL, successfully landed on runway 08 at BIIS Ísafjörður Airport with a score of 94.8%. The runway, measuring 1,389 meters in length, provided a suitable surface for the landing. The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down safely at the designated point.
Upon analysis, it was noted that the threshold speed was significantly above the target speed, reaching 123 knots. This suggests that the pilot may have been able to slow down more quickly than anticipated, potentially resulting in a shorter touchdown distance. The actual touchdown distance of 402 meters was deemed good, indicating that the pilot was able to control the aircraft's descent effectively.
However, the touchdown speed of 113 knots was slightly faster than desired, which may have contributed to a less-than-ideal touchdown rate of -241 feet per minute. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was reported as very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway at the point of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 21 knots from a direction of 50 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 20 knots, which the pilot successfully managed during the landing.
The total landing distance of 634 meters was 46% of the runway length, indicating that the pilot was able to bring the aircraft to a stop relatively quickly. The runway rollout alignment was also reported as very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase of the landing. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft coming to a safe stop on the runway.
