Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 840 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 840 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 213 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, a Kodiak 100, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at ENSG Sogndal Airport, Haukåsen. This process took approximately 6 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then departed from runway 24, with a takeoff distance of 404 meters, which accounted for 44% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 84 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 8 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 7 knots coming from a direction of 220 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 2 knots and a headwind of 7 knots. The aircraft began its enroute climb approximately 1 mile southwest of ENSG Sogndal Airport, Haukåsen, and ascended from an altitude of 2,106 feet above sea level to 10,197 feet above sea level, an increase of 8,091 feet, in 13 minutes and covering a distance of 24 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 15 miles northwest of Gaupne, Vestland, Norway, and lasted for 7 minutes, covering a distance of 17 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent 3 miles south of Innvik, Vestland, Norway, and descended from an altitude of 10,367 feet above sea level to 376 feet above sea level, a decrease of 9,990 feet, in 10 minutes and covering a distance of 15 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 26 at ENSD Sandane Airport, Anda, was made from the east, with a heading of 261.0 degrees at an altitude of 192 feet above ground level and a distance of 0 nautical miles from the runway. The landing on runway 26 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 210 meters, which was good, and a touchdown speed of 70 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was good at -183 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.7 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 5 knots coming from a direction of 40 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a tailwind of 3 knots. The total landing distance was 549 meters, which accounted for 65% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft was able to taxi to the parking area in 1 minute, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 58 nautical miles and took 34 minutes to complete, using 82 kilograms of fuel.
The aircraft in question, a Kodiak 100, successfully landed at ENSD Sandane Airport, Anda, with a score of 96.9%. The final approach was conducted from the east, heading 261.0° at an altitude of 192 feet above ground level (agl) and 0 nautical miles from the runway. The aircraft was on a steady course for a smooth landing on runway 26, which has a length of 840 meters.
Upon touchdown, the threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was above the target speed, coming in at 76 knots. This may have been due to the aircraft's approach speed being slightly higher than necessary, but it did not seem to affect the overall landing.
The touchdown distance was reported as good, at 210 meters, which is a reasonable distance for a landing on a runway of this length. The touchdown speed was a little fast, at 70 knots, which may have been due to the aircraft's momentum carrying it forward after touchdown. The touchdown rate, however, was good, at -183 feet per minute, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
One area for improvement was the runway touchdown position, which was slightly misaligned by 3.7 meters from the centerline. This may have been due to a slight deviation in the aircraft's course during the final approach. However, the runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain its course and direction after touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 11°C and winds of 5 knots at 40°. The crosswind and tailwind components were both 3 knots, which is relatively minimal and would not have had a significant impact on the landing. Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft coming to a stop within 549 meters, or 65% of the runway length.
