Improve the taxi
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,816 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,816 m of the 3,987 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 410 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777F, then departed from runway 25C at Frankfurt Airport (EDDF). The takeoff distance was 1,606 meters, which is 40% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 188 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions with a temperature of 9°C and a wind speed of 5 knots at 250°. The crosswind was negligible, but there was a headwind of 5 knots. The enroute climb started shortly after takeoff, 1 mile south of Kelsterbach, Germany, where the aircraft climbed from 1,372 feet above sea level to 27,967 feet above sea level, an increase of 26,595 feet in 12 minutes and covering 73 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, starting 1 mile east of Gaggenau, Germany, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering 32 nautical miles. However, this was followed by another climb phase, this time from 29,351 feet above sea level to 31,033 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,682 feet in 2 minutes and covering 20 nautical miles, north-west of Lauterbach/Schwarzwald, Germany.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 1 mile east of Loffingen, Germany, and lasted for 171 minutes, covering 1,463 nautical miles. This was followed by another climb phase, this time from 32,025 feet above sea level to 33,165 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,140 feet in 2 minutes and covering 19 nautical miles, 77 miles east of Al Wigh Airport in Libya.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 87 miles east of Al Wigh Airport, and lasted for 183 minutes, covering 1,519 nautical miles. This was followed by another climb phase, this time from 33,007 feet above sea level to 34,986 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,979 feet in 2 minutes and covering 18 nautical miles, 14 miles east of Bokungu Airport in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 26 miles south-east of Bokungu Airport, and lasted for 309 minutes, covering 1,478 nautical miles. However, this was followed by a descent phase, starting 7 miles south-west of Mogwase Airport in South Africa, where the aircraft descended from 35,130 feet above sea level to 6,853 feet above sea level, a decrease of 28,276 feet in 21 minutes and covering 80 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 03L at O.R. Tambo International Airport was made from the south, heading 16.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,337 feet above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 136 knots and a touchdown distance of 408 meters. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect.
The total landing distance was 1,755 meters, which is 44% of the runway length. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 16°C and a wind speed of 2 knots at 70°. The crosswind was 2 knots, and the headwind was 1 knot. The total flight distance was 4,712 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 590 minutes. The aircraft used 79,491 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777F aircraft successfully landed at O.R. Tambo International Airport's runway 03L, achieving a high score of 99.6%. The final approach was conducted from the south, with a heading of 16.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,337 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated good control and precision during the approach, ultimately touching down on the runway with a speed of 136 knots.
The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed of 138 knots was also within acceptable limits. The touchdown distance of 408 meters was within the expected range, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled descent. The touchdown speed of 136 knots was also good, suggesting that the pilot was able to manage the aircraft's speed effectively during the landing.
However, the touchdown rate of -257 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, indicating that the aircraft may have experienced a slightly higher-than-desired rate of descent during the final stages of the approach. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot was able to maintain a stable and aligned approach.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 16°C and a light wind of 2 knots at 70°. The crosswind component was minimal at 2 knots, and the headwind component was even weaker at 1 knot. These conditions likely contributed to the successful landing.
The total landing distance of 1,755 meters was 44% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase and bring it to a stop safely.
Overall, the landing was a success, with the aircraft demonstrating good control and precision throughout the approach and landing phases. The high score of 99.6% reflects the pilot's skill and expertise in managing the aircraft during this critical phase of flight.
