MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,801 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 353 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 03 at EDRZ Zweibrücken Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,007 meters, which accounted for 42% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 142 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 11°C temperature and a wind speed of 3 knots at 173 degrees. The crosswind was 2 knots, while the tailwind was 3 knots. After departing from the airport, the enroute climb started 1 mile south of Contwig, Germany, where the aircraft climbed from an altitude of 2,054 feet above sea level to 41,246 feet above sea level, an increase of 39,192 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 104 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise then began overhead Gouhenans, France, and lasted for 89 minutes, covering a distance of 668 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent overhead Matilla de los Canos del Rio, Spain, where it descended from 40,948 feet above sea level to 4,536 feet above sea level, a decrease of 36,412 feet in 22 minutes, covering a distance of 120 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started again 2 miles north of Gaviao, Portugal, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent 4 miles south of Gaviao, where it descended from 4,035 feet above sea level to 1,713 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,322 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 21 at LPSO Aeródromo Municipal de Ponte de Sor was made from the north-east, heading 204.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,315 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 21 was successful, with a runway length of 1,801 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 123 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 352 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 114 knots. The touchdown rate was smooth at -128 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 19°C temperature and a wind speed of 26 knots at 213 degrees, with a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 26 knots.
The total landing distance was 952 meters, which accounted for 53% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect. After landing, the aircraft took 2 minutes to taxi to the parking, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 915 nautical miles, which was covered in 145 minutes, and the aircraft used 2,175 kilograms of fuel.
Aircraft C750 successfully landed at LPSO Aeródromo Municipal de Ponte de Sor, achieving a score of 99.7%. The final approach to runway 21 was conducted from the north east, heading 204.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,315 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft's approach and landing performance were satisfactory, with a good threshold height and speed of 123 knots. The touchdown distance of 352 meters was also within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown speed of 114 knots was slightly higher than the recommended speed, indicating that the pilot may have been able to flare the aircraft more effectively to achieve a smoother touchdown.
The landing rate was smooth, with a rate of -128 feet per minute (fpm), and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 19°C and a wind speed of 26 knots from 213°. The crosswind component was minimal at 4 knots, while the headwind component was 26 knots, which helped to reduce the landing distance.
The total landing distance of 952 meters was 53% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to stop within a reasonable distance. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect, demonstrating the pilot's ability to control the aircraft during the landing roll.
Overall, the landing performance of aircraft C750 at LPSO Aeródromo Municipal de Ponte de Sor was satisfactory, with a high score of 99.7%. The pilot's ability to navigate the aircraft through the challenging weather conditions and achieve a smooth touchdown was commendable.
