Shorten the long landing
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,229 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,229 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 253 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.

After takeoff, the aircraft began the enroute climb from 1,052 feet above sea level to 36,007 feet over Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. This climb covered a distance of 181 nautical miles and took 29 minutes to reach the cruising altitude. The enroute level cruise at 36,007 feet lasted 2 minutes and covered 16 nm as the aircraft passed over Bavaria, Germany.
Another climb was initiated south of EDNJ Neuburg-Egweil Neuburg-Egweil, taking the aircraft from 36,571 feet to 40,127 feet over a distance of 47 nm in 7 minutes. The subsequent level cruise over Nuremberg, Germany, lasted for 117 minutes and covered 637 nm.
As the aircraft began its descent over Aberdeenshire, Scotland, it descended from 39,906 feet to 2,322 feet over a distance of 102 nm in 16 minutes. The next level cruise over Kirkwall in the Orkney Islands lasted for 2 minutes and covered 7 nm before making the final approach to Kirkwall Airport.
The landing on runway 27 at EGPA Kirkwall involved a touchdown speed of 125 knots, with a vertical speed indicator showing a descent rate of -191 ft/min. The local weather at the time of landing was 14°C with a 10-knot wind coming from 150°, resulting in a 9-knot crosswind and 4-knot tailwind component. The aircraft touched down 255 meters from the threshold and used 773 meters of the runway for landing, which was 63% of the total runway length.
