MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,691 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,691 m of the 2,437 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 918 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing McGhee Tyson Airport (KTYS) on runway 23L, the Cessna Longitude began its takeoff roll, accelerating to a liftoff speed of 135 kt. The aircraft cleared the runway threshold in 32% of the available distance, utilizing 834 meters of the 2,437-meter runway. Local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 29 °C and a gentle tailwind of 2 kt, with a crosswind component of 7 kt.
As the aircraft climbed away from KTYS, it began its enroute climb 1 mile west of Alcoa, Tennessee, at an altitude of 1,938 ft above sea level. The climb phase was characterized by a significant increase in altitude, reaching 19,710 ft asl in just 4 minutes, while covering a distance of 22 nm. Following the climb, the aircraft transitioned into a level cruise phase, lasting 3 minutes and covering 26 nm, before initiating its enroute descent 4 miles west of Morristown Regional Airport (KMOR). The descent phase was notable for its steep rate of descent, decreasing from 19,718 ft asl to 2,769 ft asl in 11 minutes, while covering a distance of 53 nm.
Upon reaching the destination airport, Tri-Cities Regional TN/VA Airport (KTRI), the aircraft began its final approach to runway 05 from the southwest, aligning with the runway at 4 nm and 1,247 ft above ground level. The landing was characterized by a slightly fast touchdown speed of 112 kt, but a good threshold height and runway touchdown alignment. The total landing distance was 1,595 meters, representing 65% of the available runway length. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, completing the flight in 25 minutes and utilizing 504 kg of fuel, while covering a total distance of 110 nm.
The aircraft touched down on runway 05 at KTRI Tri-Cities Regional TN/VA Airport, demonstrating a good threshold height. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target, registering 119 kt. The touchdown point was located 487 m beyond the touchdown zone, indicating a slightly long touchdown. The aircraft's touchdown speed of 112 kt was a little fast, but the touchdown rate of -249 fpm was fair.
The approach quality was satisfactory, with a heading of 42.0° from the south west at 4 nm and 1,247 ft agl. The runway length of 2,437 m was sufficient for the aircraft to come to a stop. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 21 °C and wind at 12 kt at 120°, resulted in a crosswind of 12 kt and a headwind of 3 kt. The aircraft's performance was affected by these conditions, but it was able to maintain a very good runway touchdown alignment.
The total landing distance of 1,595 m was 65% of the runway length, indicating a reasonable stopping distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 10.5 m from the centreline. Overall, the landing performance scored 76.9%, reflecting a satisfactory but not outstanding performance.
