MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,831 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 516 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Vision Jet taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Allegheny County Airport (KAGC), taking approximately 6 minutes and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 28, with a takeoff distance of 425 meters, which accounted for 21% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 94 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 5°C temperature and a wind speed of 22 knots at 239 degrees. The crosswind component was 11 knots, while the headwind component was 19 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead KAGC Allegheny County Airport, and rising from 1,685 feet above sea level to 26,338 feet above sea level, an increase of 24,653 feet in 18 minutes, covering 46 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 2 miles northwest of Rimersburg, Pennsylvania, and lasted for 16 minutes, covering 67 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its first descent, starting 1 mile southeast of Kennedy, New York, and descending from 26,087 feet above sea level to 25,486 feet above sea level, a decrease of 600 feet in 2 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile. The enroute level cruise then resumed, starting 1 mile southeast of Kennedy, and lasted for 25 minutes, covering 149 nautical miles.
The second descent began 1 mile north of Shavertown, Pennsylvania, and the aircraft descended from 25,518 feet above sea level to 1,335 feet above sea level, a decrease of 24,182 feet in 20 minutes, covering 87 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 06 at Teterboro Airport (KTEB) was made from the southwest, heading 48.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,324 feet above ground level.
The landing took place on runway 06 at KTEB, which had a length of 1,831 meters. The threshold height was significantly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 95 knots. The touchdown point was 83 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 81 knots, which was good. However, the touchdown rate was fair at -260 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 9.3 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 2°C temperature and a wind speed of 8 knots at 340 degrees. The crosswind component was 8 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots. The total landing distance was 712 meters, which accounted for 39% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.9 meters from the centerline. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took approximately 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 356 nautical miles, taking 93 minutes, and the aircraft used 285 kilograms of fuel.
The Vision Jet aircraft successfully landed on runway 06 at KTEB Teterboro Airport, but with some notable deviations from the ideal landing performance. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 48.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,324 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was executed at a speed of 95 knots, which was considered good.
However, the threshold height at 88 feet agl was significantly above the target, indicating that the aircraft may have been higher than desired at the point of touchdown. The touchdown point was 83 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which suggests that the aircraft may have been slightly long on the landing. The touchdown speed of 81 knots was considered good, but the touchdown rate of -260 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, indicating that the aircraft may have touched down with a slightly higher rate of descent than desired.
The runway touchdown position was also misaligned by 9.3 meters from the centerline, which could have contributed to the slightly long touchdown point. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 2°C and a wind of 8 knots at 340°, resulting in a crosswind of 8 knots and a headwind of 3 knots.
The total landing distance of 712 meters was 39% of the runway length, which is a relatively short landing distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.9 meters from the centerline, which could have contributed to the overall deviation from the ideal landing performance.
Overall, the Vision Jet aircraft demonstrated a good speed control during the landing, but struggled with some aspects of the approach and touchdown, including the threshold height, touchdown point, and runway alignment. Despite these deviations, the aircraft was able to safely land on the runway, and the pilot's skills and experience likely played a significant role in achieving a successful outcome.
