MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 152 m above the runway. The 305 m gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,798 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 695 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking area to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a P180 Avanti, then departed from runway 19 at EGTK Oxford (Kidlington) Airport. The takeoff distance was 486 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 116 knots.
As the aircraft took off, it encountered local weather conditions of 21°C temperature and a wind speed of 26 knots at 188 degrees. The crosswind was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind was 26 knots. The enroute climb started overhead EGTK Oxford (Kidlington) Airport, where the aircraft climbed from an altitude of 383 meters above sea level to 6,085 meters above sea level, an increase of 5,701.6 meters in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 25 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise began overhead Hartwell, Northamptonshire, England, and lasted for 25 minutes, covering a distance of 138 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent 34 miles northwest of Domburg, Provincie Zeeland, The Netherlands, and descended from 6,109 meters above sea level to 718 meters above sea level, a decrease of 5,390.6 meters in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 60 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise resumed overhead Groot IJsselmonde, Provincie Zuid-Holland, The Netherlands, and lasted for 5 minutes, covering a distance of 9 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent 1 mile southwest of Waddinxveen, Provincie Zuid-Holland, The Netherlands, and descended from 614 meters above sea level to 356 meters above sea level, a decrease of 258.2 meters in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 24 at EHRD Rotterdam The Hague Airport was made from the north east, heading 240.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 354.9 meters above ground level. The landing was successful, with a touchdown speed of 97 knots and a touchdown rate of -0.5 meters per second. However, the touchdown point was 269 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 13.2 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 19°C temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots at 250 degrees. The crosswind was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind was 4 knots. The total landing distance was 1,157 meters, which accounted for 64% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.4 meters from the centerline.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking area took 2 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 245 nautical miles, taking 65 minutes, and the aircraft used 376 kilograms of fuel.
The aircraft, identified as FFX P180 03 01, successfully landed on runway 24 at EHRD Rotterdam The Hague Airport. The final approach was initiated from the north east, heading 240.0° at an altitude of 354.9 meters above ground level (agl) and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The aircraft's speed during the final approach was slightly above the target threshold speed, reaching 123 knots.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was recorded at 97 knots, which was considered good. The touchdown rate was also excellent, at -0.5 meters per second. However, the touchdown point was 269 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, indicating a slight deviation from the intended landing spot. Furthermore, the runway touchdown position was misaligned by 13.2 meters from the centerline, which may have contributed to the deviation.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 19°C and a gentle wind of 4 knots from 250°. The crosswind component was minimal, at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 4 knots. The total landing distance was 1,157 meters, which accounted for 64% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned, by 8.4 meters from the centerline.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft touching down at a good speed and rate. However, there were some deviations from the intended landing spot and alignment, which may require attention from the pilot to improve future landings.
