Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 152 m above the runway. The 305 m gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,000 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 449 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 10 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft, an Airbus A320, then departed from runway 36 at Milano Linate Airport (LIML). The takeoff distance was 1,476 meters, which accounted for 60% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 143 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 13 degrees Celsius and winds of 8 knots at 115 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 7 knots and a tailwind of 4 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead the Idroscalo Milan (RB11) at an altitude of 416 meters above sea level. The climb continued to an altitude of 11,402 meters above sea level, an increase of 10,986.8 meters, in 19 minutes and covering a distance of 114 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, starting 1 mile north east of Pistoia (Toscana, Italy). This phase lasted for 50 minutes and covered a distance of 262 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 70 miles north west of Ustica (Sicilia, Italy). The descent from 11,597 meters above sea level to 1,138 meters above sea level, a decrease of 10,459.3 meters, took 21 minutes and covered a distance of 95 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 17 miles north of Santa Flavia (Sicilia, Italy). This phase lasted for only 3 minutes and covered a distance of 10 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 7 miles north east of Isola delle Femmine (Sicilia, Italy). The descent from 1,052 meters above sea level to 398 meters above sea level, a decrease of 654.4 meters, took 3 minutes and covered a distance of 9 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 25 at Falcone-Borsellino Airport (LICJ) was made from the north east, heading 247.0 degrees at an altitude of 382.9 meters above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The landing on runway 25 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 449 meters and a touchdown speed of 128 knots, which was slightly fast. The touchdown rate was hard at -2.1 meters per second, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.3 meters from the centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius and winds of 13 knots at 170 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 13 knots and a headwind of 3 knots. The total landing distance was 1,312 meters, which accounted for 44% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned by 8.9 meters from the centreline.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 500 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 93 minutes. The aircraft used 2,960 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at Falcone–Borsellino Airport, scoring a high 95.2% on its performance. The aircraft approached the runway from the north east, heading 247.0° at an altitude of 382.9 meters above ground level (agl) and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The pilot maintained a good threshold height, which is a critical aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly above the recommended threshold speed of 132 knots, coming in at 128 knots. This resulted in a slightly harder touchdown rate of -2.1 meters per second. The touchdown distance of 449 meters was within the acceptable range, indicating that the pilot had sufficient control over the aircraft's descent.
The landing was completed on runway 25, which has a length of 3,000 meters. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 5.3 meters, which may have been due to the crosswind or other factors. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 21°C and a moderate wind of 13 knots from 170°. The crosswind component was 13 knots, while the headwind component was 3 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,312 meters was 44% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned from the centerline by 8.9 meters, which may indicate some issues with the pilot's control over the aircraft's roll during the landing. Overall, the landing was successful, but there is room for improvement in terms of touchdown speed and runway alignment.
