Flight Score
Speed on the slow side
Between four hundred and a thousand feet you're heavy, close to the ground and still carrying flap, and speed is the margin holding all three apart. Slow here doesn't feel like anything — the aeroplane climbs, the nose is up, nothing complains — right up until a turn, a gust or a bank tightens the wing's job and the margin is already gone. The fix is rarely "fly faster", it's lowering the nose a degree and letting the speed build before the next thing you do. Pitch buys altitude, speed buys options, and at this height options are the scarcer of the two.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out. These checks are the approach's score.
At the 300 ft gate: centreline 1.1° off, against a 1° limit.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 513 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 513 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 81 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The 1.71 G arrival is the firm side of smooth.
The rest of the report
The Kodiak 100 taxied to runway 19 at AYPB Paiela Airport and commenced the take-off roll, using 374 m which represents 73 % of the available runway. Liftoff was achieved at 67 kt. Ambient conditions were 15 °C with a wind of 1 kt from 270°, a cross-wind component of 1 kt and no head-wind component.
Climb began directly overhead the departure airport, with the aircraft ascending from 6,515 ft asl to 7,214 ft asl, a gain of 699 ft in 1 minute while covering 2 nm.
Descent was initiated one mile south-west of AYPB, reducing altitude from 7,233 ft asl to 6,400 ft asl, a loss of 833 ft over 2 minutes and a horizontal distance of 4 nm.
During the final approach to runway 19, the aircraft descended from 310 ft agl to -2 ft agl in 58 seconds and met the stabilisation gate criteria.
Landing was executed on runway 19, whose total length is 513 m. The threshold speed was 53 kt, well below the target. Touchdown occurred 80 m down the runway at 46 kt, with a vertical speed of minus 248 fpm. Alignment at touchdown was very good and the local weather remained 15 °C, wind 1 kt from 270°, cross-wind 1 kt, head-wind 0 kt.
Runway rollout alignment was recorded as very good; the total landing distance measured 230 m, representing 45 % of the runway.
In total, the flight covered 9 nm, took 7 minutes, and consumed 29 kg of fuel.
The Kodiak 100 approached runway 19 at AYPB Paiela Airport, descending from 310 ft AGL to -2 ft AGL in 58 seconds and receiving a score on the stabilisation gates.
At threshold the height was good and the threshold speed was 53 kt, well below the target, prompting a reminder to avoid a stall condition.
Touchdown occurred 80 m down the runway at 46 kt, a speed rated good, with a vertical rate of minus 248 fpm judged fair and runway-touchdown alignment described as very good.
The aircraft rolled out over a total landing distance of 230 m, representing 45 % of the 513 m runway, and rollout alignment was very good.
With an overall score of 89.2 % the performance was solid; increasing the threshold speed toward the target will reduce stall risk, and refining the flare to lessen the descent rate will further improve touchdown quality.
