Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,759 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,759 m of the 2,370 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 476 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking to the runway at Sacramento International Airport, taking 17 minutes and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 17R, with a takeoff distance of 1,251 meters, which was 48% of the runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 153 knots.
As the aircraft climbed out of Sacramento International Airport, it encountered local weather conditions of 18°C temperature and a wind of 31 knots at 170 degrees. The crosswind was 6 knots, and the headwind was 30 knots. The enroute climb started 1 mile south of the airport and took 27 minutes to reach a height of 38,469 feet above sea level, an increase of 37,445 feet. The climb covered a distance of 193 nautical miles.
After reaching the cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise 17 miles southeast of Coaldale Junction in Nevada. This phase of the flight lasted 14 minutes and covered 110 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent 8 miles northwest of Flying S Ranch Ultralightport in Pahrump, Nevada, and descended from 38,695 feet to 34,888 feet in 9 minutes, covering 75 nautical miles.
The aircraft entered another level cruise 9 miles southeast of Boulder City Municipal Airport in Nevada, lasting 7 minutes and covering 61 nautical miles. The descent phase started 4 miles east of X Bar 1 Ranch Lower Airport in Kingman, Arizona, and the aircraft descended from 34,501 feet to 2,407 feet in 26 minutes, covering 136 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 07R at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport was made from the west, heading 90 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,278 feet above ground level. The landing took place on a runway length of 2,370 meters, with a threshold height of 66 feet above ground level, which was above the target. The threshold speed was good at 142 knots.
The touchdown point was 64 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 137 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -261 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 12.2 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport were 21°C temperature and a wind of 17 knots at 150 degrees, with a crosswind of 14 knots and a headwind of 8 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,682 meters, which was 71% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 12.2 meters from the centreline. The taxiing to the parking from the runway took 5 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 584 nautical miles, taking 100 minutes, and the aircraft used 4,668 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed on runway 07R at KPHX Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, achieving a score of 89.7%. The final approach was initiated from the west, heading 90.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,278 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's approach to the runway was generally smooth, with a threshold height above the target but still within acceptable limits.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 137 knots, which was slightly faster than the desired speed. However, the touchdown speed was still within a safe range, and the touchdown rate of -261 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair. The touchdown point was located 64 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which may indicate a slight deviation from the intended landing path.
The runway touchdown position was also found to be misaligned by 12.2 meters from the centerline, which may have contributed to the deviation from the intended touchdown zone. Despite this, the aircraft was able to maintain control and come to a stop within a reasonable distance. The total landing distance of 1,682 meters was 71% of the available runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 21°C and a wind speed of 17 knots from a direction of 150°. The crosswind component was 14 knots, while the headwind component was 8 knots. These conditions may have contributed to the slight deviations from the intended landing path, but the aircraft's performance was still satisfactory.
During the rollout phase, the aircraft's alignment with the runway centerline was found to be slightly misaligned by 12.2 meters. This may indicate a slight loss of control or a deviation from the intended path during the landing roll. However, the aircraft was able to come to a stop safely, and the landing was considered successful overall.
