MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,548 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,548 m of the 3,589 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 654 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the departure roll from runway 22 at San Sebastián Airport, with the Airbus A319 taking off after a distance of 842 meters, which was 59% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 135 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 29 knots from a direction of 170 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 22 knots and a headwind of 19 knots.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb overhead Irun, Spain, and continued to ascend to a height of 27,570 feet above sea level, an increase of 26,524 feet from its initial altitude of 1,046 feet. This climb took 12 minutes and covered a distance of 54 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, which started overhead Garrosse, France, and lasted for 38 minutes, during which it covered a distance of 295 nautical miles.
The enroute descent phase began 1 mile northeast of Villiers-le-Morhier, France, and the aircraft descended from a height of 26,753 feet to 1,672 feet above sea level, a decrease of 25,081 feet, in 16 minutes and covering a distance of 48 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 27L at Charles de Gaulle International Airport was made from the east, with the aircraft heading 265.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,319 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 27L was successful, with the touchdown point being 193 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 117 knots, which was considered good, while the touchdown rate was fair at -254 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 23 knots from a direction of 190 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 22 knots and a headwind of 6 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,422 meters, which was 40% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft took 6 minutes to taxi to the parking area from the runway, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 404 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 80 minutes, during which the aircraft used 3,384 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed on runway 27L at LFPG Charles de Gaulle International Airport, achieving a score of 84.9%. The final approach to the runway was initiated from the east, heading 265.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,319 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft demonstrated a good threshold speed of 128 knots, which is within the acceptable range. However, the threshold height at 90 feet agl was significantly above the target, indicating a slight deviation in the aircraft's descent. The touchdown point was located 193 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a moderate deviation from the ideal landing spot.
The touchdown speed of 117 knots was within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled landing. However, the touchdown rate of -254 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft could have been brought down to the ground more smoothly. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, indicating that the aircraft was aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 12°C, a wind speed of 23 knots at 190°, resulting in a crosswind of 22 knots and a headwind of 6 knots. These conditions presented a moderate challenge to the pilot, but the aircraft was able to handle them successfully.
The total landing distance of 1,422 meters was 40% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled alignment with the runway centerline during the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was successful, but there were some minor deviations from the ideal landing parameters.
