Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,641 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,641 m of the 2,692 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 729 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The Airbus A319 then departed from runway 07 at EDDS Stuttgart Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,509 meters, which was 50% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 151 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 17°C, a wind speed of 6 knots at 59°, resulting in a 1-knot crosswind and a 6-knot headwind.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it began its enroute climb from 2,333 feet above sea level to 22,235 feet above sea level, an increase of 19,902 feet in just 7 minutes, covering a distance of 26 nautical miles. This climb phase started approximately 1 mile northwest of Neuhausen auf den Fildern in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 24 minutes and covered a distance of 159 nautical miles. This cruise phase took place overhead Haiterbach in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany.
The enroute descent phase began approximately 1 mile northwest of Arsonval in Grand Est, France, where the aircraft descended from 22,648 feet above sea level to 14,415 feet above sea level, a decrease of 8,233 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 37 nautical miles. Following this descent, the aircraft entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered a distance of 9 nautical miles, taking place approximately 1 mile northeast of Romilly-sur-Seine in Grand Est, France. The final descent phase began approximately 1 mile north of Villenauxe-la-Grande in Grand Est, France, where the aircraft descended from 13,905 feet above sea level to 1,658 feet above sea level, a decrease of 12,247 feet in 19 minutes, covering a distance of 51 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 09L at LFPG Charles de Gaulle International Airport was made from the west, with a heading of 85.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,283 feet above ground level. However, the aircraft was required to perform a go-around at 21 feet above ground level due to an unknown reason. The aircraft then landed on runway 09L at LFPG Charles de Gaulle International Airport, which had a length of 2,692 meters. The threshold height at 80 feet above ground level was well above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 123 knots. The touchdown point was 296 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 112 knots, which was good, and a touchdown rate of -344 feet per minute, which was firm. The runway touchdown alignment was very good.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 17°C, a wind speed of 16 knots at 29°, resulting in a 13-knot crosswind and a 9-knot headwind. The total landing distance was 1,544 meters, which was 57% of the runway length. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 12.0 meters from the centerline. The taxiing process from the runway to the parking area took 13 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 300 nautical miles, took 98 minutes, and used 3,856 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed on runway 09L at LFPG Charles de Gaulle International Airport, achieving an overall score of 84.3%. The final approach to the runway was initiated from the west, heading 85.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,283 feet above ground level (agl).
The landing was executed with good threshold speed, reaching 126 kt, which is within the acceptable range. However, the threshold height was slightly above the target, standing at 80 ft agl. This minor deviation did not significantly impact the overall performance of the landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft touched down 296 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, with a speed of 112 kt, which is considered good. The touchdown rate was firm, measuring -344 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, demonstrating precise control and coordination during the landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 17°C, with a wind speed of 16 kt at 29°. The crosswind component was 13 kt, while the headwind component was 9 kt. These conditions did not appear to significantly impact the landing performance.
The total landing distance covered by the aircraft was 1,544 meters, which accounts for 57% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating a well-executed approach and touchdown. However, the runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 12.0 meters from the centerline, which may require attention to ensure precise control during future landings.
Overall, the Airbus A319 aircraft demonstrated a high level of proficiency during the landing, with good threshold speed, controlled touchdown, and a relatively short landing distance. However, minor deviations in threshold height and runway rollout alignment require attention to maintain optimal performance.
