MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 1,000 ft gate: off the runway's 3° glideslope and off the centreline.
At the 500 ft gate: off the runway's 3° glideslope and off the centreline.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,507 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 287 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the Airbus A319 taxiing from the parking area to the runway at EVRA Riga International Airport, a process that took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. Departure roll took place on runway 18, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 1,205 meters, which accounted for 42% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 167 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 11 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 14 knots at 170 degrees. The crosswind was 4 knots, while the headwind was 13 knots. The enroute climb started overhead EVRA Riga International Airport, where the aircraft ascended from 1,055 feet above sea level to 22,091 feet, an increase of 21,036 feet in 8 minutes and covering a distance of 32 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began its descent, first from 22,046 feet to 21,117 feet, a decrease of 929 feet in 2 minutes and covering 9 nautical miles. This was followed by another climb from 21,156 feet to 22,545 feet, an increase of 1,389 feet in 2 minutes and covering 9 nautical miles. The aircraft then descended from 22,436 feet to 16,048 feet, a decrease of 6,387 feet in 3 minutes and covering 19 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 4 miles west of Kupiskis, lasting 2 minutes and covering 9 nautical miles. The aircraft then climbed from 17,073 feet to 17,871 feet, an increase of 799 feet in 2 minutes and covering 9 nautical miles. The final descent took place from 18,486 feet to 1,377 feet, a decrease of 17,109 feet in 10 minutes and covering 49 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 19 at EYVI Vilnius International Airport was made from the north, with the aircraft heading 195.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 745 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 19, which had a length of 2,507 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 138 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 288 meters, but the touchdown speed of 138 knots was fast. The touchdown rate was very heavy at -823 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.3 meters from the centerline. Local weather conditions at the time of landing were 8 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 11 knots at 200 degrees, with a crosswind of 0 knots and a headwind of 11 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,048 meters, which accounted for 42% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. Taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 144 nautical miles, taking 38 minutes and using 1,513 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at EYVI Vilnius International Airport, achieving an overall score of 88.7%. The final approach to runway 19 was initiated from the north, with a heading of 195.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 745 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with a touchdown distance of 288 meters. However, the touchdown speed of 138 knots was slightly above the target speed, indicating a potential for a slightly longer landing roll. The touchdown rate was also very heavy, at -823 feet per minute (fpm), which may have contributed to the slightly misaligned runway touchdown position, being 3.3 meters off the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 8°C and a wind speed of 11 knots from a direction of 200°. This resulted in a headwind of 11 knots, which may have influenced the aircraft's approach and landing performance. The crosswind component was negligible, at 0 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,048 meters was 42% of the available runway length, indicating a relatively short landing roll. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the landing roll and was able to align the aircraft with the runway centerline.
Overall, while the landing was successful, there were some areas for improvement, including the slightly above-target touchdown speed and the heavy touchdown rate. However, the pilot's ability to maintain control of the aircraft and achieve a good runway rollout alignment was commendable.
