Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,936 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 308 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 14 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The Airbus A320 then departed from runway 24R at LEBL Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,648 meters, which accounted for 57% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 160 knots, and the aircraft was subjected to a local wind of 14 knots at 240 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 14 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it began its enroute climb from 1,004 feet above sea level to 31,715 feet above sea level, an increase of 30,711 feet in 17 minutes, covering a distance of 92 nautical miles. The climb started overhead LEBL Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport in Barcelona, Spain. Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which lasted for 42 minutes and covered a distance of 260 nautical miles, starting 3 miles north of LEAE Alcolea de Cinca Alcolea de Cinca in Aragon, Spain.
The aircraft then began its descent from 31,316 feet above sea level to 12,276 feet above sea level, a decrease of 19,040 feet in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 64 nautical miles. The descent started overhead Cuadros in Castilla y Leon, Spain. The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which lasted for 7 minutes and covered a distance of 26 nautical miles, starting 3 miles east of Becerrea in Galicia, Spain.
The aircraft continued its descent from 11,471 feet above sea level to 8,523 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,947 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 7 nautical miles, starting 5 miles west of Paradela in Galicia, Spain. Another level cruise followed, lasting for 4 minutes and covering a distance of 13 nautical miles, starting 3 miles south of Monterroso in Galicia, Spain.
The final descent began from 8,534 feet above sea level to 2,505 feet above sea level, a decrease of 6,029 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 18 nautical miles, starting 2 miles south of Lalin in Galicia, Spain. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 35 at LEST Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport from the south, heading 346.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,300 feet above ground level.
The aircraft landed on runway 35 at LEST Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport, with a runway length of 2,936 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 138 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 306 meters, and the touchdown speed was 136 knots, which was also good. However, the touchdown rate was hard at -491 feet per minute.
The aircraft's runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.5 meters from the centreline, and the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 15.3 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius, with a wind of 22 knots at 270 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 22 knots and a headwind of 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,402 meters, which accounted for 48% of the runway. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 490 nautical
The Airbus A320 aircraft successfully landed at LEST Santiago-Rosalía de Castro Airport, with a final approach score of 91.8%. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the south, heading 346.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,300 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft landed on runway 35, which has a length of 2,936 meters.
The threshold height was good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway. The threshold speed was also good, at 138 knots, which is the recommended speed for landing. However, the touchdown speed was a little fast, at 136 knots, which may have contributed to a hard touchdown rate of -491 feet per minute (fpm). This high touchdown rate may have put additional stress on the aircraft's landing gear.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline, by 4.5 meters. This may have been due to the crosswind, which was blowing at 22 knots from the west. The aircraft was also experiencing a headwind of 5 knots, which may have affected its approach and landing. The total landing distance was 1,402 meters, which is 48% of the runway length.
During the rollout, the aircraft's alignment was misaligned from the centreline by 15.3 meters. This may have been due to the aircraft's initial touchdown position and the crosswind. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were a temperature of 10°C and a wind speed of 22 knots from the west. The aircraft's pilots will need to take these factors into account when planning future landings at this airport.
