Improve the pattern downwind leg
The 45-degrees-behind-the-wing cue assumes you can turn your head and use peripheral vision. Downwind spacing cues like "put the wingtip halfway up the strut" assume a fixed, known eyepoint. Neither survives a monitor unmodified. If you fly on a fixed monitor, stop pretending and fly a numbers-based circuit.

One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,490 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 300 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departure roll from runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde was initiated by Gabriel White and Green, with a takeoff distance of 315 meters, representing 13% of the available runway length. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 70 knots, as the local weather conditions presented a gentle headwind of 3 knots at 224 degrees. The temperature was a comfortable 20 degrees Celsius, with a negligible crosswind component.
As the aircraft transitioned into the enroute climb phase, it began ascending from an altitude of 939 feet above sea level to 1,112 feet, a net increase of 173 feet over a distance of 2 nautical miles, achieved within a minute. This initial climb phase was followed by a descent from 1,119 feet to 15 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,103 feet over 4 nautical miles, completed within 3 minutes. The aircraft then initiated a second climb phase, ascending from 16 feet to 579 feet above sea level, a net increase of 564 feet over 1 nautical mile, achieved within 2 minutes. Following this climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, maintaining an altitude of 579 feet above sea level for 3 minutes, covering 4 nautical miles.
The total flight distance was 12 nautical miles, completed within 11 minutes, with a fuel consumption of 30 kilograms. The flight's performance was characterized by efficient use of runway length, moderate climb rates, and a stable level cruise phase. The aircraft's ability to adapt to changing altitudes and navigate through the local terrain was demonstrated throughout the flight, showcasing the pilots' proficiency in managing the aircraft's performance within the given weather conditions.
The final approach to runway 23 at EHGG Groningen Airport Eelde was flown from the north-east on a heading of 231.0° at 0 nm and an altitude of 218 ft agl, with a good threshold height reported.
At the threshold the aircraft established a speed of 70 kt, noted as slightly above the target, and began the flare.
Touchdown occurred 299 m down the runway at a speed of 46 kt, with a vertical rate of -78 fpm and perfect runway-touchdown alignment.
Rollout continued with perfect runway-rollout alignment, covering a total landing distance of 518 m, which is 21 % of the 2,490 m runway length.
Maintain the excellent alignment and runway-centerline control while fine-tuning the approach speed to meet the exact target threshold speed for continued optimal performance.
