Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,759 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 445 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, an ATR 72, then departed from runway 05 at UNKY Kyzyl Airport in Kyzyl, Russia. The takeoff distance was 988 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 122 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of -12°C, with a wind speed of 2 knots at 43°.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it began its enroute climb from 3,133 feet above sea level to 17,402 feet above sea level, an increase of 14,269 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 45 nautical miles. The climb started 1 mile northeast of UNKY Kyzyl Airport. The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, which began 32 miles southwest of Toora-Khem, Russia, and lasted for 81 minutes, covering a distance of 271 nautical miles.
The enroute descent phase started 24 miles southwest of UI10 Belsk, Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, and involved a descent from 17,675 feet above sea level to 11,749 feet above sea level, a decrease of 5,926 feet in 5 minutes, covering a distance of 23 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 19 miles southwest of Angarsk, Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, and lasted for 13 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile.
The enroute descent phase continued, starting 19 miles southwest of Angarsk, and involved a descent from 11,749 feet above sea level to 4,372 feet above sea level, a decrease of 7,377 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 25 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which started 4 miles southwest of UIIR Vostochny, Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, and lasted for 13 minutes, covering 4 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 12 at UIII Irkutsk International Airport was made from the west, heading 114.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,371 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 12, which had a length of 2,759 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 120 knots. The touchdown distance was good at 444 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 108 knots. The touchdown rate was smooth at -139 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.4 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -18°C, with a wind speed of 3 knots at 90°. The crosswind was 1 knot, and the headwind was 3 knots. The total landing distance was 1,026 meters, which accounted for 37% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 380 nautical miles, taking 110 minutes, and used 1,406 kilograms of fuel.
The ATR 72 aircraft successfully landed at UIII Irkutsk International Airport, achieving a score of 97.8%. The final approach to runway 12 was initiated from the west, with a heading of 114.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,371 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft maintained a good threshold height, which is a crucial aspect of a safe landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly above the target threshold speed of 120 knots, registering at 120 kt. However, the touchdown distance of 444 meters was considered good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain control and stability during the landing process. The touchdown speed of 108 kt was a little fast, but the smooth touchdown rate of -139 feet per minute (fpm) suggests that the aircraft was able to absorb the impact effectively.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.4 meters from the centerline, which may require some adjustments to the aircraft's approach path to improve accuracy. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of -18°C and a wind speed of 3 knots at 90°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 kt, while the headwind component was 3 kt, which likely contributed to the smooth touchdown rate.
The total landing distance of 1,026 meters was 37% of the runway length, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain control and stability throughout the landing process. The runway rollout alignment was very good, suggesting that the aircraft's brakes were applied effectively to bring the aircraft to a stop. Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and stability during the landing process.
