Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
Side view — the last 799 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 799 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 90 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Congratulations on achieving a landing score of 98.3%! This is an exceptional accomplishment and a testament to your skill as a pilot. Let's break down the different phases of your landing to see what contributed to this impressive score.
During the Approach Phase, your descent path was slightly below the glideslope limit. While this is a minor deviation, it shows that you were carefully managing your altitude to ensure a safe and controlled approach to the runway. Keep up the good work with maintaining proper glide path in future landings.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, you demonstrated excellent technique with a good threshold height and a perfect landing flare. This indicates that you were able to accurately judge your altitude and airspeed, resulting in a smooth and controlled touchdown on the runway. Your attention to detail and precision during this phase is commendable.
In the Touchdown Phase, your touchdown rate was good, and your speed was on target. Additionally, you landed within the touchdown zone and only 1.6 meters from the runway centerline. Landing within the designated area and maintaining alignment with the centerline shows your ability to accurately control the aircraft during the critical moments of touchdown. Keep focusing on maintaining proper speed and alignment in future landings to continue improving your performance.
Finally, in the Rollout Phase, your runway alignment was very good. This means that you were able to maintain a straight path down the runway after landing, further demonstrating your proficiency in handling the aircraft during all phases of the landing process.
Overall, your landing was truly impressive, and your attention to detail and precision in each phase of the landing contributed to your high score. Keep up the excellent work and continue honing your skills to achieve even better results in future flights. Keep striving for excellence, and your flying abilities will only continue to improve. Well done!
