Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,828 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 219 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 07L at Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX). The aircraft, an MD-11, accelerated down the runway and lifted off at a speed of 146 knots. The takeoff distance was 945 meters, which accounted for 28% of the runway length.
As the aircraft climbed out of KLAX, it encountered local weather conditions of 12°C temperature and a wind speed of 4 knots from a direction of 39°. The crosswind component was 3 knots, while the headwind component was also 3 knots. The aircraft climbed to an altitude of 2,083 feet above sea level (asl) over the town of Lennox, California, increasing its altitude by 1,510 feet in just 1 minute and covering a distance of 3 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise phase began 1 mile southwest of Ladera Heights, California, and lasted for 2 minutes, during which the aircraft covered a distance of 11 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb phase 3 miles south of Topanga, California, and reached an altitude of 3,276 feet asl, increasing its altitude by 845 feet in 2 minutes and covering a distance of 13 nautical miles.
As the aircraft continued its journey, it began its descent phase 2 miles southwest of Westlake Village, California. The descent from 3,265 feet asl to 213 feet asl took 4 minutes and covered a distance of 19 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase 2 miles west of El Rio, California, and lasted for 4 minutes, during which it covered a distance of 3 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 08 at Camarillo International Airport (KCMA) was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 98.0° at an altitude of 372 feet above ground level (agl) and 2 nautical miles from the runway threshold. The landing was made on runway 08, which had a length of 1,828 meters. The threshold speed was a little below the target speed at 134 knots, and the touchdown distance was good at 222 meters.
The touchdown speed was a little fast at 140 knots, but the touchdown rate was smooth at -140 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown alignment was very good, and the runway rollout alignment was perfect. The local weather conditions at KCMA were 18°C temperature and a wind speed of 20 knots from a direction of 70°, with a crosswind component of 7 knots and a headwind component of 19 knots.
The total landing distance was 984 meters, which accounted for 54% of the runway length. The taxiing to the parking from the runway took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 55 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 24 minutes. The aircraft used 169 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The MD-11 aircraft successfully landed at KCMA Camarillo International Airport, achieving a high score of 98.7%. The final approach to runway 08 was conducted from the west, with a heading of 98.0° at 2 nautical miles and 372 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft demonstrated good control and precision during the approach, ultimately landing safely on the runway.
The landing was executed on a runway with a length of 1,828 meters, and the threshold height was reported as good. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 134 knots, indicating a slight delay in the aircraft's descent. Despite this, the touchdown distance was satisfactory at 222 meters, and the touchdown speed of 140 knots was only slightly above the target speed.
The touchdown rate was smooth, with a rate of -140 feet per minute, indicating a controlled and stable descent. The runway touchdown alignment was also very good, demonstrating the pilot's skill and precision during the landing. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were favorable, with a temperature of 18°C and a wind speed of 20 knots at 70°.
The crosswind component was relatively low at 7 knots, while the headwind component was 19 knots, which helped to reduce the landing distance. The total landing distance was 984 meters, which accounted for 54% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating the aircraft's good performance and the pilot's skill.
During the rollout, the aircraft maintained perfect alignment with the runway, demonstrating the pilot's ability to control the aircraft's speed and direction. Overall, the landing was a success, with the MD-11 aircraft demonstrating its capabilities and the pilot's expertise in executing a safe and precise landing.
