Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,704 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,704 m of the 2,190 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 284 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 8 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The Airbus A320 then departed from runway 13 at LaGuardia Airport (KLGA), with a takeoff distance of 1,423 meters, which accounted for 67% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 150 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 27°C temperature and a wind speed of 12 knots at 54°. The crosswind was 11 knots, while the headwind was 4 knots. The enroute climb started overhead Flushing, New York, and the aircraft ascended from 1,027 feet above sea level to 32,302 feet, an increase of 31,275 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 71 nautical miles.
After reaching its cruising altitude, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which lasted for 13 minutes and covered 6 nautical miles, starting 1 mile south of Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 1 mile north of Norristown, Pennsylvania, and descended from 31,780 feet to 10,390 feet, a decrease of 21,390 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 81 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, this time starting overhead Pumphrey, Maryland, and lasted for 7 minutes, covering 26 nautical miles. The enroute descent started overhead Rockville, Maryland, and the aircraft descended from 9,973 feet to 145 feet, a decrease of 9,827 feet in 10 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 19 at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (KDCA) was made from the north, with a heading of 177.0° at 0 nautical miles and 127 feet above ground level. The aircraft landed on runway 19, which had a length of 2,190 meters. The threshold height was above the target, and the threshold speed was slightly above target at 137 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 281 meters, but the touchdown speed was a little fast at 136 knots. The touchdown rate was very heavy at -764 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.7 meters from the centreline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 25°C temperature and a wind speed of 6 knots at 60°, with a crosswind of 5 knots and a tailwind of 3 knots.
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 204 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 58 minutes. The aircraft used 2,083 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 aircraft successfully landed on runway 19 at KDCA Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, but with some notable deviations from the ideal landing parameters. The aircraft was approaching the runway from the north, heading 177.0° at 0 nm and 127 ft above ground level (agl). The final approach was conducted with a slight tailwind of 3 kt, which may have contributed to the deviations observed during the landing.
The threshold height at 66 ft agl was above the target, indicating that the aircraft was slightly higher than desired when crossing the runway threshold. Additionally, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 137 kt, which may have resulted in a slightly longer landing distance. However, the touchdown distance of 281 m was considered good, indicating that the aircraft was able to touch down within a reasonable distance from the runway threshold.
Despite the good touchdown distance, the touchdown speed of 136 kt was a little fast, which may have contributed to the heavy touchdown rate of -764 fpm. A heavier touchdown rate can increase the risk of damage to the aircraft and runway, and may also affect the safety of passengers and crew.
The runway touchdown position was misaligned by 8.7 m from the centreline, which may have resulted from a slight deviation in the aircraft's alignment during the final approach. This misalignment was also observed during the runway rollout, where the aircraft was 14.2 m off-centreline.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 25 °C and a wind speed of 6 kt at 60°. The crosswind component was 5 kt, which is relatively low and may not have significantly affected the landing. However, the slight tailwind may have contributed to the deviations observed during the landing.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, but with some notable deviations from the ideal parameters. The aircraft's performance was affected by the slight tailwind and the slightly high threshold height and speed. However, the touchdown distance and speed were within reasonable limits, and the aircraft was able to come to a stop within a relatively short distance.
