MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Begin the flare with progressive back pressure and keep it coming until the sink is arrested, rather than flying it on flat.
What happened: The nose was barely raised in the flare and little of the sink was taken out, flying the aircraft onto the runway. This pattern usually carries through to a firm touchdown with a noticeable sink rate.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a smoothly reducing sink through the normal flare band, not a steady rate into the runway.
Below 10,000 ft you are typically limited to 250 kt indicated (a US rule that much of the world mirrors in some form, though not universally). This forces a deceleration around 10,000 ft whether the profile wants one or not, so plan for it rather than discovering it.

From brake release to the end of the climb, against time, then the takeoff point by point.
Rotated at 133 kt, and lifted off at 147 kt 3.3 s later, the nose coming up at 1.9° a second. Climb 3 averaged 158 kt, 6 kt under its 164 kt target.
Two traces from brake release: the airspeed on top, and below it the pitch, which is how far the nose is above the horizon. The figures at liftoff are the pitch then and how fast the nose came up, in degrees a second. The shaded stretch is Climb 3, the part of the climb scored on holding the climb speed.
The takeoff, point by point
Side view from the start of the roll to the end of Climb 3 at 914 ft.
Reached 35 ft with 1,160 m of runway left; gear up at 214 ft, inside the 400 ft that gets full marks; then climbing at 2,670 fpm on average to 914 ft.
The takeoff from the side: the height above the runway against the distance along it. The numbers along the runway are the speeds reached at each point. Lifting off in the amber last quarter of the runway costs marks for the roll length. The gear-up ring is coloured by its mark. The shaded stretch is Climb 3, scored on its average speed against the target.
Plan view the roll down the 2,702 m runway.
Rolled from 67 m in, drifted 1.6 m right of the centreline and was back on it to lift off. Airborne 44 % of the way down the runway, before the 75 % line.
The roll from above, with your left at the top. The line is where the wheels went, and "widest" is the furthest you drifted off the centreline. Lifting off before the amber 75 % line gets full marks for the roll length.
The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
The final from 4 nm.
Profile height against the 3.5° glideslope, with its 1° band in green.
On the glideslope from 4 nm to 1.9 nm, then low to the threshold (up to 220 ft under).
Your height above the runway against the distance still to go. The glideslope is the steady descent path to the aiming point, 305 m past the threshold: 3.5° here, which is about 370 ft for every nautical mile out, crossing the threshold at about 60 ft. The row under the distances is the height it puts you at. Inside the green band your path is drawn green; outside it, amber.
Plan distance off the extended centreline, your left at the top, with the 1° band. Sideways distances are drawn 3× larger than distances along the final.
Inside the 1° band from 4 nm to 3.4 nm, then drifted 116 m right between 3.4 and 1.1 nm, then back inside it from 1.1 to 0.5 nm, then 15 m right of it from 0.5 nm to the threshold.
Looking down from above, flying left to right towards the runway: up the page is left of the centreline, down is right. Sideways distances are stretched so that small drifts show, so a line that looks wild here may be only a few tens of feet. The labels are how far off you were at each distance, amber when outside the band.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320-ceo taxied from the parking area to runway 09 at East Midlands Airport (EGNX) for 6 minutes, covering 1 nm.
Take-off was performed on runway 09 with a distance of 1 191 m, which is 44 % of the runway length. Rotation occurred at 133 kt. Local weather at departure was temperature 11 °C, wind 9 kt from 019° (crosswind 8 kt, headwind 3 kt).
Initial climb to 1 000 ft agl took 18 seconds, averaging 2 427 fpm and reaching 159 kt at the top of the climb. The subsequent climb from 1 288 ft asl to 23 694 ft asl lasted 8 minutes, covering 41 nm and beginning overhead Kegworth.
Cruise was level at 24 000 ft asl for 7 minutes, covering 45 nm, starting 1 mile north of Biddulph.
Descent from 23 982 ft asl to 1 490 ft asl took 13 minutes, covering 64 nm, beginning 7 miles north-west of Hoylake.
A climb from 1 529 ft asl to 9 070 ft asl followed for 3 minutes, covering 15 nm, starting overhead Castletown.
Descent from 9 062 ft asl to 2 510 ft asl lasted 6 minutes, covering 15 nm, beginning 8 miles west of Port Erin.
Level flight at 2 500 ft asl continued for 9 minutes, covering 18 nm, starting 11 miles south-west of Port Erin.
Descent from 2 217 ft asl to 1 527 ft asl was completed in 1 minute, covering 2 nm, starting 1 mile south-west of Port Erin.
Final approach to runway 08 at Isle of Man Airport (EGNS) began at 1 558 ft agl and descended to 17 ft agl in 128 seconds. Stabilisation checks at 1 000 ft and 500 ft above the runway were met for gear down, landing flap, sink rate, on speed and wings level; they were not met for glideslope (at one gate) and centreline. Configuration was landing gear down at 8 455 ft agl, 155 kt; final flap position 5 was selected at 2 936 ft agl, 130 kt.
Landing on runway 08, which is 1 818 m long, had a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 114 kt. The flare was poor, with little round-out. Touchdown occurred 23 m from the threshold at 113 kt, with a very hard rate of minus 543 fpm. The touchdown point was misaligned by 9.6 m from the centreline. No bounce occurred.
Total landing distance was 346 m, representing 19 % of the runway, and rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 8.9 m from the centreline. Local weather at landing was temperature 7 °C, wind 8 kt from 020° (crosswind 7 kt, headwind 4 kt).
After landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area for 1 minute, covering less than 1 nm.
The flight covered 206 nm in 55 minutes and used 2 161 kg of fuel.
