Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 500 ft gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed and off the centreline.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,205 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 622 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 08 at SBJE Polo Turistico De Jericoacoara. The Airbus A320 took off with a takeoff distance of 310 meters, which accounted for 14% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 149 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 10 knots at 86 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed, it started its enroute climb overhead SBJE Polo Turistico De Jericoacoara, located in Ceara, Brazil. The climb began at an altitude of 1,160 feet above sea level and reached 2,077 feet above sea level, an increase of 917 feet in just 1 minute, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft then initiated its enroute descent 2 miles west of the departure point, descending from 2,052 feet above sea level to 640 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,411 feet in 2 minutes, also covering a distance of 2 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 08 at SBJE Polo Turistico De Jericoacoara was made from the southwest, with a heading of 67.0 degrees at 1 nautical mile and 537 feet above ground level. The landing was executed on runway 08, which had a length of 2,205 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was well above the target at 126 knots.
The touchdown point was 199 meters beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 113 knots, which was a little fast. However, the touchdown rate was good at -168 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 4.6 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions remained the same, with a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 10 knots at 86 degrees.
The total landing distance was 1,334 meters, which accounted for 61% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The total flight distance was 7 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 5 minutes. The aircraft used 120 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at SBJE Polo Turistico De Jericoacoara, achieving a score of 96.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 67.0° at 1 nautical mile and 537 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was executed with good control, and the aircraft landed on runway 08, which has a length of 2,205 meters.
The threshold height was satisfactory, and the threshold speed was well above the target at 126 knots. However, the touchdown speed was a little fast at 113 knots, which may have been due to the aircraft's high approach speed. The touchdown rate was good at -168 feet per minute (fpm), indicating a controlled descent.
The touchdown point was 199 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which may have been due to the aircraft's slightly misaligned runway touchdown position. The runway touchdown position was 4.6 meters off-centerline, which is a relatively minor deviation. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 26°C and a headwind of 10 knots at 86°.
The total landing distance was 1,334 meters, which is 61% of the runway length. This is a relatively short landing distance, indicating that the aircraft was well-controlled throughout the approach and landing. The runway rollout alignment was very good, showing that the aircraft's brakes were applied smoothly and effectively.
Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft's performance was satisfactory. However, there is room for improvement in terms of touchdown speed and runway alignment.
