MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Arrival
Keep the back pressure coming once the flare is established, holding the attitude instead of letting the nose drop.
What happened: Sink came back after the flare had arrested it, and that pattern usually carries the touchdown long - here it landed at 873 m against the 457 m aim point.
Watch for: Vertical speed indicator: a steady, shallow rate through the flare with no renewed sink before touchdown
Ground effect becomes significant below about one wingspan of height. A Cessna 172, with a 36 ft span, enters ground effect at flare height - the float it feels in the hold-off is ground effect arriving on cue. An A320, with a span around 117 ft, has been in ground effect since before the threshold and there is no sudden cushion to feel, only a gradual reduction in induced drag that lengthens any float you allow.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,866 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,866 m of the 3,488 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 873 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The Airbus A320-ceo departed Frankfurt Airport (EDDF) from runway 18. The take-off roll used 2,027 m, which is 51 % of the runway. Rotation was achieved at 164 kt. Local weather was 12 °C with a wind of 12 kt from 206°, giving a 5 kt crosswind and an 11 kt headwind.
Initial climb to 1,000 ft agl took 20 seconds, averaging 2,147 fpm and reaching 167 kt at the top of the climb. The climb continued from 1,355 ft asl to 35,806 ft asl in 19 minutes, covering 131 nm and beginning 2 nm west of Moerfelden-Walldorf. Cruise was level at 34,700 ft asl for 87 minutes, covering 639 nm and starting 1 nm south-west of Kulmbach. Descent began at 34,161 ft asl and proceeded to 1,484 ft asl in 27 minutes, covering 133 nm, starting 2 nm north-east of Predeal.
Final approach to runway 08R at Bucharest Henri Coandă International Airport (LROP) descended from 1,209 ft agl to 73 ft agl in 107 seconds. Stabilisation checks at 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway were met for gear down, landing flap, sink rate, glideslope, centreline, speed and wings level.
Landing was on runway 08R, whose length is 3,488 m. The threshold height at 58 ft agl was slightly above target; threshold speed was good at 138 kt. The flare was described as great, with the aircraft floating before touchdown. Touchdown occurred 450 m beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 125 kt, which was good, and a rate of -262 fpm, which was fair. The touchdown point was slightly misaligned by 4.8 m from the centreline. No bounce occurred. Total landing distance was 1,781 m, 51 % of the runway, and rollout alignment was very good.
Local weather at landing was 13 °C with a wind of 10 kt from 050°, giving a 6 kt crosswind and an 8 kt headwind. After landing, the aircraft taxied to parking in 7 minutes, covering 1 nm.
The flight covered 914 nm in 158 minutes and used 5,643 kg of fuel.
