MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 2,047 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 2,047 m of the 3,184 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 1,204 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a short taxiing period from the parking to the runway, taking approximately 1 minute and covering less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 16L at Salt Lake City International Airport (KSLC) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The takeoff distance was 2,836 meters, which accounted for 77% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 193 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 7 knots at 129 degrees. The crosswind and headwind components were both 5 knots. As the aircraft took off, it began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south of KSLC and reaching an altitude of 31,081 feet above sea level (asl) after climbing 25,802 feet in 23 minutes, covering a distance of 171 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise phase began 15 miles south of Rangely Airport (KRAE) in Rangely, Colorado, and lasted for 152 minutes, covering a distance of 1,253 nautical miles. The aircraft then started another enroute climb, this time from 87 miles south of the Pensacola Moving Carrier (FM01) in Florida, and climbed from 31,644 feet asl to 37,821 feet asl, an increase of 6,177 feet in 7 minutes, covering 56 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise phase resumed, this time starting at a latitude of 27.8844982 and a longitude of -86.3309468, and lasted for 317 minutes, covering a distance of 1,637 nautical miles. As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent, starting 47 miles west of Maurice Bishop International Airport (TGPY) in Saint George's, Grenada, and descending from 38,273 feet asl to 1,390 feet asl, a decrease of 36,883 feet in 21 minutes, covering 110 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 10 at Piarco International Airport (TTPP) was made from the west, heading 90.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,330 feet above ground level (agl). The landing was successful, with the touchdown point being 773 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 135 knots, which was good, but the touchdown rate was hard at -427 feet per minute (fpm). The runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 27 degrees Celsius. The total landing distance was 1,951 meters, which accounted for 61% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. After landing, the aircraft took 4 minutes to taxi to the parking, covering less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 3,234 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 430 minutes. The aircraft used 9,735 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at TTPP Piarco International Airport, achieving an overall score of 82.8%. The final approach to runway 10 was initiated from the west, with a heading of 90.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,330 feet above ground level (agl).
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway, with the touchdown point located 773 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone. The touchdown speed of 135 knots was within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown rate of -427 feet per minute (fpm) was considered hard, suggesting that the aircraft may have experienced a slight bounce or jolt upon touchdown.
The runway touchdown alignment was reported to be perfect, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline at the moment of touchdown. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 27°C, which is relatively warm and may have affected the aircraft's performance.
The total landing distance of 1,951 meters was 61% of the available runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. This suggests that the pilot was able to maintain a high level of control and precision during the landing, allowing the aircraft to come to a stop within a relatively short distance. The runway rollout alignment was also reported to be very good, indicating that the aircraft was properly aligned with the runway centerline during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high level of precision and control. However, the hard touchdown rate and slightly below-target threshold speed may indicate areas for improvement in the pilot's technique or the aircraft's performance.
