Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,130 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 682 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Zürich Airport (LSZH) took approximately 6 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The Airbus A320 then departed from runway 16, utilizing 64% of the 3,210-meter runway to achieve a takeoff distance of 2,055 meters. Liftoff speed was reached at 164 knots, with a local temperature of 17°C and a wind of 5 knots at 200 degrees. The crosswind component was minimal, with a headwind of 3 knots.
The enroute climb phase began overhead Opfikon, Switzerland, where the aircraft transitioned from a ground elevation of 2,394 feet to a cruising altitude of 34,964 feet in 20 minutes, covering a distance of 138 nautical miles. The climb rate was significant, with an increase of 32,570 feet in a relatively short period. Following a 46-minute cruise phase, during which the aircraft maintained a steady altitude of 34,964 feet, the enroute descent phase commenced 1 mile south-east of Isaba, Spain. The aircraft descended from 35,241 feet to 1,605 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 95 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 30 at Bilbao Airport (LEBB) was initiated from the south-east, with a heading of 297.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,474 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 30 at LEBB was successful, with a touchdown point 265 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed of 130 knots was within acceptable limits, while the touchdown rate of -228 feet per minute was fair. The runway touchdown alignment was perfect, and the runway rollout alignment was also satisfactory. The total landing distance was 1,321 meters, utilizing 62% of the 2,130-meter runway. Following a taxiing period of 4 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile, the aircraft arrived at the parking area. The total flight distance was 599 nautical miles, with a flight time of 94 minutes and a fuel consumption of 4,039 kilograms.
The final approach to runway 30 at LEBB Bilbao Airport from the south east was executed with precision, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 297.0° at 4 nm and 1,474 ft above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with the threshold height at 61 ft above ground level being above the target, indicating a slightly higher than desired approach path angle. However, the threshold speed of 142 kt was within the acceptable range, demonstrating good control and management of the aircraft's descent.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown point was located 265 m beyond the touchdown zone, which is slightly beyond the ideal position. The touchdown speed of 130 kt was good, indicating a controlled and stable approach. The touchdown rate of -228 fpm was fair, suggesting a slightly higher than desired rate of descent. Despite this, the runway touchdown alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the touchdown phase. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 12 °C and a headwind of 4 kt, contributed to a relatively smooth and stable approach.
The rollout phase was executed with precision, with the aircraft maintaining perfect centerline alignment. The total landing distance of 1,321 m, which accounts for 62% of the runway length, was within the acceptable range. Overall, the landing was satisfactory, with a score of 96.1% reflecting the aircraft's good performance and the pilot's effective management of the approach and touchdown phases.
