Fixing the bounce
Fast at the threshold, normal flare, and the runway seems to refuse the aircraft. The instinctive fix - pushing it on - causes the next one. A fast aircraft forced onto the runway touches nosewheel-first or nearly so. The tell is a touchdown that feels soft followed by a bounce that steepens. Pilots fix the bounce recovery; the cause was the 10 knots at the threshold.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway. They are the approach's score: the checks passed out of the checks that ran.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,623 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 195 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing Mengen-Hohentengen Airfield (EDTM) on runway 25, the aircraft accelerated down the 818-meter runway, utilizing 65% of its length, before lifting off at a speed of 129 knots. The local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 11 degrees Celsius and a gentle headwind of 3 knots from a direction of 346 degrees, with no crosswind component.
As the aircraft climbed away from Mengen, it began its enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 23,565 feet above sea level in just 10 minutes, covering a distance of 63 nautical miles. The climb was characterized by a significant increase in altitude, with a total ascent of 20,643 feet. Following a brief level cruise phase overhead Lochgau, the aircraft commenced its descent, initially from 23,546 feet to 5,841 feet in 11 minutes, covering 63 nautical miles. A second level cruise phase was undertaken 2 miles south of Weilmuenster, lasting 3 minutes and covering 12 nautical miles. The final descent phase, from 5,604 feet to 3,192 feet in just 3 minutes, was completed 2 miles south-east of Greifenstein.
The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 31 at Siegerland Airport (EDGS), descending from 1,228 feet above ground level to touchdown. The landing was executed with a threshold speed of 115 knots and a touchdown speed of 112 knots, which was slightly above the optimal value. The touchdown distance of 195 meters was within acceptable limits, and the runway touchdown position was only slightly misaligned from the centreline. Following a successful landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, completing the flight with a total distance of 179 nautical miles and a fuel consumption of 671 kilograms. The entire flight duration was 41 minutes.
The aircraft, C750, successfully executed a final approach to runway 31 at EDGS Siegerland Airport from the south east, aligning with the runway heading of 308.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,228 feet above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 115 knots, which met the required standards.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown distance of 195 meters was within acceptable limits. However, the touchdown speed of 112 knots was slightly above the optimal range, resulting in a firm touchdown rate of -362 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 4.1 meters, which may require attention in future approaches.
The aircraft's rollout phase was characterized by excellent alignment with the runway centreline, demonstrating good control and coordination. The total landing distance of 840 meters, accounting for 52% of the runway length, was within acceptable limits. Overall, the landing performance of C750 scored 97.1%, reflecting a high level of proficiency and adherence to standard operating procedures.
