Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,768 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 447 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 16 at UT1C Khorog Airport, with the TBM 930 aircraft taking off after a distance of 479 meters, which accounted for 26% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 78 knots. At the time of departure, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius.
As the aircraft climbed out of Khorog Airport, it began its enroute climb, reaching an altitude of 29,260 feet above sea level after ascending 21,575 feet in 16 minutes, covering a distance of 56 nautical miles. The climb phase was completed overhead Ubagn, a location in Gorno-Badakhshan, Tajikistan, approximately 1 mile east of the town.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 16 minutes and covered a distance of 92 nautical miles. This phase was also completed in the vicinity of Ubagn.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its enroute descent from an altitude of 31,403 feet above sea level to 3,626 feet above sea level, a decrease of 27,777 feet in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 64 nautical miles. The descent phase was initiated 20 miles northeast of Kyzyl-Eshme, a location in Osh Oblasty, Kyrgyzstan.
The final approach to runway 01 at UAJA Jalal-Abad Airport was made from the south, with the aircraft heading 15.0 degrees at an altitude of 1,052 feet above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway threshold. The landing was completed on runway 01, which had a length of 1,768 meters. The threshold height was good, but the threshold speed was excessively high at 89 knots.
The touchdown distance was good at 447 meters, but the touchdown speed was too fast at 83 knots. The touchdown rate was excellent at -54 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.0 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 22 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 7 knots at 56 degrees. The crosswind was 5 knots, and the headwind was also 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 822 meters, which accounted for 46% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The total flight distance was 217 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 49 minutes. The aircraft used 144 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The TBM 930 aircraft successfully landed at UAJA Jalal-Abad Airport, achieving a score of 94.1%. The final approach was conducted from the south, heading 15.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,052 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft touched down on runway 01, which has a length of 1,768 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, but the threshold speed was excessively high at 89 knots. This indicates that the pilot may have been able to flare the aircraft more effectively to reduce the touchdown speed. The touchdown distance was good at 447 meters, which is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
However, the touchdown speed was reported as too fast at 83 knots. This is a concern as it may indicate that the pilot did not fully utilize the aircraft's deceleration capabilities during the flare. The touchdown rate was excellent at -54 feet per minute (fpm), which suggests that the pilot was able to control the aircraft's descent effectively.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.0 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the final approach or during the flare. The local weather conditions were favorable, with a temperature of 22°C and a wind speed of 7 knots at 56°. The crosswind and headwind components were both 5 knots, which is relatively light.
The total landing distance was 822 meters, which is 46% of the runway length. This is a reasonable distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot was able to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
Overall, the landing was successful, but there are some areas for improvement, particularly in terms of reducing the touchdown speed and maintaining a more accurate touchdown position.
