Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,250 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 317 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was operated by FWB EasyJet, a commercial airliner. The aircraft began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 7 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll from runway 29 at YSNF Norfolk Island International Airport was smooth, with a takeoff distance of 579 meters, which accounted for 31% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 153 knots.
As the aircraft climbed to a higher altitude, it encountered local weather conditions of 24°C temperature and a wind speed of 17 knots at 266°. The crosswind was 10 knots, while the headwind was 14 knots. The enroute climb started over YSNF Norfolk Island International Airport, where the aircraft ascended from 1,305 feet above sea level to 20,807 feet, an increase of 19,502 feet in just 6 minutes, covering a distance of 26 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered a level cruise phase, which lasted for 5 minutes and covered 34 nautical miles. This was followed by another enroute climb, where the aircraft ascended from 21,374 feet to 37,637 feet, an increase of 16,263 feet in 8 minutes, covering a distance of 61 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 2 minutes and covered 13 nautical miles.
The aircraft continued to climb, ascending from 37,681 feet to 38,562 feet, an increase of 881 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 13 nautical miles. This was followed by another level cruise phase, which lasted for 24 minutes and covered 176 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, starting 94 miles southwest of NWWE Île des Pins Airport, where it descended from 38,906 feet to 7,181 feet, a decrease of 31,725 feet in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 79 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, which lasted for 3 minutes and covered 16 nautical miles. This was followed by another descent, where the aircraft descended from 6,900 feet to 1,326 feet, a decrease of 5,574 feet in 9 minutes, covering a distance of 26 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final approach to runway 11 at NWWW La Tontouta International Airport, flying from the northwest at a heading of 121.0° and an altitude of 1,277 feet.
The landing on runway 11 was smooth, with a touchdown distance of 318 meters, which was good. The touchdown speed was 110 knots, and the touchdown rate was firm at -364 feet per minute. However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 3.4 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 28°C temperature and a wind speed of 9 knots at 240°, with a crosswind of 8 knots and a tailwind of 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,083 meters, which accounted for 33% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 25.4 meters from the centerline. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, a process that took 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 451 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 83 minutes, with a fuel consumption of 2,639 kilograms.
The aircraft, identified as FWB EasyJet, successfully landed at NWWW La Tontouta International Airport, achieving a score of 89.0%. The final approach to runway 11 was initiated from the north-west, with a heading of 121.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,277 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 115 knots, which was slightly below the target threshold speed. However, the touchdown distance of 318 meters was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown speed of 110 knots was also within acceptable limits, and the touchdown rate of -364 feet per minute was firm but not excessive.
Despite the good overall performance, there were some minor issues with the landing. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 3.4 meters, which may have been due to a slight deviation in the approach path. Additionally, the runway rollout alignment was also misaligned from the centreline by 25.4 meters, which may have been caused by a combination of factors including the crosswind and tailwind conditions.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 28°C and a wind speed of 9 knots from a direction of 240°. The crosswind component was 8 knots, while the tailwind component was 5 knots. These conditions may have contributed to the slight misalignment of the runway touchdown and rollout positions.
Overall, the landing was considered good, with the aircraft achieving a smooth and controlled touchdown and a relatively short touchdown distance. However, there is room for improvement in terms of aligning the aircraft with the centreline of the runway during the rollout phase.
