Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,484 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 183 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft, an Airbus A319, taxiing from the parking area to the runway at Lennart Meri Tallinn Airport, taking 12 minutes and covering a distance of 5 nautical miles. The departure roll took place on runway 26, with the aircraft lifting off after a takeoff distance of 740 meters, which was 26% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 155 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 12°C temperature and a wind speed of 32 knots at 269 degrees. The crosswind was negligible, but the aircraft benefited from a 32-knot headwind. The enroute climb began overhead the airport, with the aircraft ascending from 1,212 feet above sea level to 19,423 feet, an increase of 18,211 feet in just 7 minutes, covering a distance of 31 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 11 miles northwest of Paldiski, Estonia, and lasted for 5 minutes, during which the aircraft covered 24 nautical miles. The enroute descent began 11 miles south of Hanko, Finland, and took 15 minutes to descend from 19,418 feet to 1,435 feet, a decrease of 17,983 feet, covering a distance of 56 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 26 at Turku Airport was made from the east, with the aircraft heading 266.0 degrees at 4 nautical miles and 1,280 feet above ground level. The landing took place on a runway with a length of 2,484 meters, and the threshold height was good. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 130 knots, and the touchdown distance was good at 184 meters. The touchdown speed was a little fast at 130 knots, and the touchdown rate was heavy at -698 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 18.0 meters from the centerline, and the runway rollout alignment was also misaligned by 15.9 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 11°C temperature and a wind speed of 16 knots at 280 degrees, with a 4-knot crosswind and a 15-knot headwind.
The total landing distance was 1,023 meters, which was 41% of the runway length. The taxiing to the parking area from the runway took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 122 nautical miles, taking 45 minutes, and the aircraft used 1,575 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Airbus A319 aircraft successfully landed at EFTU Turku Airport, but with some notable areas for improvement. The final approach was initiated from the east, heading 266.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,280 feet above ground level. The aircraft touched down on runway 26, which has a length of 2,484 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, but the threshold speed was slightly above the target speed of 130 knots. This may indicate a slight delay in the aircraft's descent or a slight increase in airspeed during the final approach. The touchdown distance of 184 meters was considered good, but the touchdown speed of 130 knots was a little fast. This may have contributed to the heavy touchdown rate of -698 feet per minute, which is higher than the desired rate.
The runway touchdown position was significantly misaligned by 18.0 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to a combination of factors including crosswind and pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 11°C, a wind speed of 16 knots from 280°, and a crosswind of 4 knots and a headwind of 15 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,023 meters was 41% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. However, the runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 15.9 meters from the centerline, which may have been due to the same factors that contributed to the initial touchdown position misalignment.
Overall, while the landing was successful, there are areas for improvement in terms of speed management, touchdown rate, and alignment during the rollout phase. These issues can be addressed through additional training and practice to ensure that the pilots can achieve a smoother and more precise landing.
