Maintain the centreline
A small uncorrected heading error at 40 knots becomes a metre of offset per second by 100 knots, noticed only at rotation, producing a crabbed liftoff. Root cause is nearly always eyes on the tape instead of the far end of the runway. Small heading changes displace a distant point visibly long before the nearby centreline stripes look wrong.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with seven checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
At the 500 ft gate: speed above the reference speed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,202 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 612 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll on runway 18 at WMBI Taiping (Tekah) Airport, where the aircraft took off after covering 79% of the 1,056-meter runway. The liftoff speed was 133 knots, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 4 knots at 56 degrees.
As the aircraft climbed out of the airport, it began its enroute climb, which started overhead the airport and took the aircraft to an altitude of 20,834 feet above sea level. This climb was achieved in just 7 minutes, covering a distance of 36 nautical miles and an altitude increase of 20,733 feet. The aircraft then entered a level cruise, which lasted for 17 minutes and covered a distance of 124 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 8 miles north of WMKL Langkawi International Airport, where the aircraft descended from 20,660 feet to 2,160 feet above sea level in just 5 minutes, covering a distance of 27 nautical miles. The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which lasted for 4 minutes and covered a distance of 17 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 03 at WMKL Langkawi International Airport was made from the south west, with the aircraft heading at 34.0 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,156 feet above ground level. The landing was made on the runway, which was 3,202 meters long, and the touchdown point was 194 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 134 knots, which was slightly too fast, and the touchdown rate was smooth at -120 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.3 meters from the centerline, and the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 29 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 12 knots at 75 degrees. The crosswind was 8 knots, and the headwind was 9 knots. The total landing distance was 1,403 meters, which was 44% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the taxiing to the parking from the runway took less than 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile.
The total flight distance was 208 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 37 minutes. The aircraft used 906 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna Longitude successfully landed on runway 03 at WMKL Langkawi International Airport, achieving a score of 91.2%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 34.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,156 feet above ground level.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 194 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, which is a significant deviation from the intended landing spot. The touchdown speed of 134 knots was also higher than the recommended threshold speed, indicating that the pilot may have applied too much power during the approach. However, the touchdown rate was smooth at -120 feet per minute, suggesting that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 29°C and winds of 12 knots at 75°. The crosswind component was 8 knots, while the headwind component was 9 knots. These conditions may have contributed to the slightly misaligned runway touchdown position, which was 5.3 meters off the centerline.
Despite the deviations from the ideal landing, the aircraft's runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control of the aircraft during the rollout phase. The total landing distance of 1,403 meters was 44% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight.
Overall, while the landing was not perfect, the Cessna Longitude's pilot demonstrated good control and handling skills, particularly during the rollout phase. However, there is room for improvement in terms of touchdown speed and alignment with the runway centerline.
