Departure
Use coordinated aileron input to level the wings and hold bank angle close to wings-level during the climb.
What happened: During the initial climb, your average bank angle drifted to 2.3°.
Watch for: Attitude indicator, bank angle near wings-level
Bank angle in the pattern is conventionally kept to 20 to 30 degrees, and the base-to-final turn is where that convention earns its keep. Stall speed rises with bank because the wing must produce more lift in a turn. Roughly 7 per cent higher at 30 degrees, about 19 per cent at 45, and around 40 per cent at 60. At 65 kt on base you don't have much margin to spend steepening a turn to salvage an overshoot.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate for a circuit: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate is an instrument-approach check and does not apply.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,116 m of the approach.
Plan view — the full 1,116 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 129 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a departure roll from runway 34 at RPSM Maasin Airport. The Cessna 152 aircraft accelerated down the runway, covering a distance of 589 meters, which accounted for 53% of the runway's length. The liftoff speed was achieved at 63 knots. At the time of takeoff, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 270 degrees, resulting in a negligible crosswind and headwind.
As the aircraft entered the left-hand pattern, it did so from runway 34, with the entry distance being less than 1 nautical mile in 19 seconds. The subsequent left-hand pattern crosswind leg was completed in 24 seconds, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft then proceeded to the downwind turn, which involved a 45-degree angle to the runway and a distance of 1 nautical mile. The downwind leg itself covered a distance of 2 nautical miles in 71 seconds.
The base leg turn was completed in 1 nautical mile, with an angle to the runway of 45 degrees and 34.5 degrees. The base leg itself was covered in less than 1 nautical mile in 27 seconds. The final turn was completed in less than 1 nautical mile in 11 seconds, after which the aircraft began its final approach to runway 34 from the south, heading 340 degrees at an altitude of 479 feet above ground level and a distance of 1 nautical mile from the runway.
The landing on runway 34 was successful, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 36 knots and a distance of 127 meters. The touchdown rate was good at -181 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 8.7 meters. The local weather conditions remained the same as during takeoff, with a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 1 knot from a direction of 270 degrees.
The total flight distance was 5 nautical miles, which was completed in 4 minutes, and the aircraft used 1 kilogram of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna 152 aircraft successfully landed at RPSM Maasin Airport, achieving a score of 95.9%. The final approach was conducted from the south, heading 340.0° at 1 nautical mile and 479 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft successfully touched down on runway 34, which has a length of 1,116 meters.
The threshold height was reported as good, indicating that the aircraft was at the correct height as it approached the runway. However, the threshold speed was slightly below the target speed of 50 knots. Despite this, the touchdown distance was good at 127 meters, and the touchdown speed of 36 knots was also within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate of -181 feet per minute (fpm) was also reported as good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
One area for improvement was the runway touchdown position, which was misaligned by 8.7 meters from the centerline. This suggests that the aircraft may have been slightly off course during the final approach, but it did not appear to have a significant impact on the overall landing.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 15°C and a wind speed of 1 knot from 270°. This resulted in a negligible crosswind component and no headwind. Overall, the landing was successful, and the aircraft demonstrated good control and precision during the final approach and touchdown.
