Flight Score
Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,398 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 527 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in the Boeing 737-800 started with a quick taxi from the parking area to the runway at GOBD Blaise Diagne International Airport, which took only 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nm. The departure roll from runway 01 was smooth, with a takeoff distance of 850 m, representing 24% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 138 kn. The local weather at the time of departure was hot, with a temperature of 35 °C and a wind of 4 kn coming from 340 °, resulting in a crosswind of 1 kn and a headwind of 4 kn.
As the aircraft proceeded enroute, the climb started 1 mile north of GOBD and took the plane from 1,260 ft asl to 39,705 ft asl, covering a total of 273 nm in 37 minutes. The level cruise phase commenced 63 miles north of GQNB Boutilimit Airport and lasted 169 minutes, covering a distance of 1,441 nm.
The descent began 5 miles southeast of Lakhdaria, taking the aircraft from 39,888 ft asl to 1,810 ft asl in 18 minutes, covering 109 nm. The landing on runway 17 at DAAV Jijel Ferhat Abbas Airport saw the plane touching down 527 m from the threshold at a speed of 124 kn. The total landing distance was 993 m, representing 41% of the runway length, with smooth taxiing to the parking area taking less than 1 minute and covering less than 1 nm.
Overall, the total flight distance covered was 1,831 nm over 233 minutes, consuming 9,755 kg of fuel. Despite the varying weather conditions during the flight, the aircraft successfully completed its journey from GOBD to DAAV.
Congratulations on a fantastic aircraft landing score of 99.0%! Let's break down each phase of the landing to see where you excelled and where there might be room for further improvement.
During the Approach Phase, your glideslope alignment was described as excellent, which indicates that you were able to maintain the correct descent path towards the runway. Additionally, having your speed slightly below the target is commendable as it shows good control and awareness of the aircraft's speed during this critical phase.
Moving on to the Landing Phase, you demonstrated a good threshold height, ensuring that you were at the right altitude as you approached the runway. The great landing flare suggests that you were able to smoothly transition from the descent to the touchdown phase, resulting in a smooth and controlled landing.
In the Touchdown Phase, your touchdown rate was excellent, indicating a smooth and controlled contact with the runway. It's also notable that your speed was on target during this phase, showcasing your ability to maintain the correct speed for a safe landing. While the touchdown point being slightly beyond the touchdown zone is not ideal, it is still within an acceptable range.
Looking at the Rollout Phase, the runway alignment being 3.7 m from the centerline suggests that there may have been a slight drift during the rollout. This is an area where you could focus on improving your centerline tracking during the roll-out phase to ensure a straight and controlled rollout.
Overall, your landing performance was outstanding, with many areas of strength including glideslope alignment, landing flare, touchdown rate, and maintaining the correct speeds. Keep up the excellent work, and continue to practice and fine-tune your techniques to further improve your landing skills. With your dedication and attention to detail, you are well on your way to achieving even higher scores in the future. Well done!
