Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,219 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 269 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 4 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-200ER, then departed from runway 23L at Benito Juárez International Airport (MMMX) in Mexico City. The takeoff distance was 2,797 meters, which accounted for 81% of the runway. The aircraft lifted off at a speed of 169 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and winds of 15 knots at 120 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 13 knots and a tailwind of 7 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile south east of Mexico City, and climbed from an altitude of 8,355 feet above sea level to 35,549 feet above sea level, an increase of 27,194 feet, in 18 minutes and covering a distance of 100 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 5 miles south east of Penamiller, a town in the state of Queretaro, Mexico, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 12 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 36,201 feet above sea level to 38,584 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,383 feet, in 3 minutes and covering a distance of 28 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started again, this time 11 miles north east of San Luis de la Paz, a town in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico, and lasted for 7 minutes, covering a distance of 57 nautical miles.
The aircraft then began another climb, this time from 38,560 feet above sea level to 41,548 feet above sea level, an increase of 2,988 feet, in 3 minutes and covering a distance of 27 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise started again, this time 5 miles south west of Pinos, a town in the state of Zacatecas, Mexico, and lasted for 94 minutes, covering a distance of 726 nautical miles.
As the aircraft approached its destination, it began its descent, starting 5 miles north east of Cibuta, a town in the state of Sonora, Mexico. The descent from 40,489 feet above sea level to 2,396 feet above sea level, a decrease of 38,093 feet, took 26 minutes and covered a distance of 149 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 26 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (KPHX) was made from the east, heading 270.0 degrees, at an altitude of 4 nautical miles and 1,266 feet above ground level. The landing on runway 26 was successful, with a touchdown distance of 271 meters and a touchdown speed of 133 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -320 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown alignment was perfect.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 28 degrees Celsius and winds of 8 knots at 280 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 8 knots. The total landing distance was 1,368 meters, which accounted for 42% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was also perfect.
The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 4 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 1,112 nautical miles, and the flight took 170 minutes to complete. The aircraft used a total of 15,924 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 777-200ER successfully landed at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (KPHX) on runway 26. The aircraft approached the runway from the east, heading 270.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,266 feet above ground level (agl). The pilot demonstrated excellent control and precision during the final approach, achieving a score of 98.9%.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 133 knots, which was slightly above the recommended threshold speed of 135 knots. However, the touchdown distance of 271 meters was well within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. The touchdown rate of -320 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, suggesting a stable and controlled touchdown.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 28°C and a wind speed of 8 knots from 280°. The crosswind component was minimal at 1 knot, while the headwind component was 8 knots, which helped to reduce the aircraft's ground speed and improve control during the landing.
The total landing distance of 1,368 meters was 42% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, demonstrating the pilot's ability to maintain control and stability during the landing roll. Overall, the landing was executed smoothly and safely, with the aircraft coming to a stop in a controlled and stable manner.
