MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 305 m and 152 m above the runway.
At the 305 m gate: sink rate above what the glideslope needed.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,401 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 146 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 11 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 35L at LIMC Milan Malpensa International Airport. The takeoff distance was 1,578 meters, which was 45% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 152 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 7 knots from a direction of 210 degrees. The crosswind component was 5 knots, while the tailwind component was also 5 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead LIMC Milan Malpensa International Airport Ferno. The climb took 19 minutes and covered a distance of 118 nautical miles, during which the aircraft ascended from an altitude of 531 meters above sea level to 10,902 meters above sea level, an increase of 10,370.6 meters.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which started 1 mile east of Riolunato. This phase lasted for 40 minutes and covered a distance of 350 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, which started 41 miles northwest of Malfa. The descent took 24 minutes and covered a distance of 122 nautical miles, during which the aircraft descended from an altitude of 10,955 meters above sea level to 599 meters above sea level, a decrease of 10,355.8 meters.
The final approach to runway 05 at LICB Comiso Airport was made from the southwest, with a heading of 50.0 degrees at an altitude of 383 meters above ground level and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway threshold. The landing was made on runway 05, which had a length of 2,401 meters. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed was also good at 143 knots. However, the touchdown speed was a little fast at 140 knots, and the touchdown rate was heavy at -3.4 meters per second. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 5.6 meters.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius and a wind speed of 14 knots from a direction of 259 degrees. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the tailwind component was 12 knots. The total landing distance was 1,199 meters, which was 50% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was very good. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 598 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 97 minutes. The aircraft used 4,146 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at Comiso Airport (LICB) with a score of 93.8%. The final approach was initiated from the southwest, heading 50.0° at an altitude of 383.0 meters above ground level (agl) and a distance of 4 nautical miles from the runway. The aircraft maintained a steady descent, and the threshold height was reported as good.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's speed was slightly above the recommended threshold speed of 143 knots, registering at 140 knots. This resulted in a slightly heavy touchdown rate of -3.4 meters per second. The touchdown distance of 145 meters was within the acceptable range, indicating a smooth and controlled landing.
However, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.6 meters from the centerline, which may require some adjustments during future landings. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 26°C, with a wind speed of 14 knots from a direction of 259°. The crosswind component was 7 knots, while the tailwind component was 12 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,199 meters was 50% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance considering the aircraft's size and weight. The runway rollout alignment was reported as very good, indicating that the pilot maintained control and stability during the post-landing phase. Overall, the landing was successful, with some minor areas for improvement.
