MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,259 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 322 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 2 nautical miles. The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300, then departed from runway 07L at Los Angeles International Airport (KLAX). The takeoff distance was 2,377 meters, which was 70% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 216 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of 19°C, with a wind speed of 4 knots at 140°. The crosswind was 3 knots, and the headwind was 2 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting overhead Lennox, California, and climbing from 1,112 feet above sea level to 25,989 feet above sea level, an increase of 24,877 feet in 17 minutes, covering a distance of 81 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise started 4 miles south of Vosburgh Airfield (5CN4) in New Cuyama, California, and lasted 11 minutes, covering a distance of 82 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, starting 4 miles south of Cambria, California, and climbing from 27,673 feet above sea level to 32,629 feet above sea level, an increase of 4,956 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 49 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise then started 23 miles south of Carmel Valley Village Airport (KCAL) in Carmel Valley Village, California, and lasted 145 minutes, covering a distance of 992 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, starting at a latitude of 44.2498601 and a longitude of -140.6997975, and climbing from 31,726 feet above sea level to 33,056 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,330 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 16 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise then started at a latitude of 44.3752754 and a longitude of -141.0579216 and lasted 169 minutes, covering a distance of 1,209 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute climb, starting at a latitude of 48.9917782 and a longitude of -169.8527421, and climbing from 33,017 feet above sea level to 34,722 feet above sea level, an increase of 1,704 feet in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 36 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise then started at a latitude of 49.1110544 and a longitude of -170.7809701 and lasted 312 minutes, covering a distance of 2,167 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting 87 miles east of Kashima-shi, Japan, and descending from 35,451 feet above sea level to 3,812 feet above sea level, a decrease of 31,639 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 91 nautical miles.
The enroute level cruise then started 12 miles south east of Asahi, Japan, and lasted 2 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 9 miles south east of Naruto, Japan, and descending from 3,766 feet above sea level to 1,308 feet above sea level, a decrease of 2,459 feet in 4 minutes, covering a distance of 14 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 34L at Narita International Airport (RJAA) was from the south east, heading 330.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,158 feet above ground level. The landing
The Boeing 777-300 aircraft successfully landed at RJAA Narita International Airport, achieving a score of 94.9%. The final approach to runway 34L was initiated from the south east, heading 330.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,158 feet above ground level.
The aircraft touched down on the runway with a speed of 146 knots, which was slightly above the target threshold speed. The touchdown distance of 323 meters was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown speed was a little fast, which may have contributed to the hard touchdown rate of -438 feet per minute.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centreline by 5.2 meters, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 5°C, with a wind speed of 16 knots at 0°. The crosswind component was 8 knots, while the headwind component was 13 knots.
The total landing distance of 1,208 meters was 37% of the runway length, indicating a relatively short landing distance. However, the runway rollout alignment was also slightly misaligned from the centreline by 8.8 meters, which may have been due to factors such as pilot error or aircraft performance.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with a high score of 94.9%. However, there were some minor issues with the touchdown speed, touchdown rate, and runway alignment, which may be addressed in future training or operations to improve the aircraft's performance and safety.
