MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,527 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,527 m of the 3,184 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 743 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 4 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, then departed from runway 09 at Simón Bolívar International Airport (SVMI). The takeoff distance was 959 meters, which accounted for 33% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 147 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 32 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 3 knots at a direction of 46 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 1 knot and a headwind of 3 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, which started overhead Maiquetia, Venezuela. The climb took 25 minutes and covered a distance of 173 nautical miles, with the aircraft ascending from 1,065 feet above sea level to 32,988 feet above sea level, an increase of 31,923 feet.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise, which started 7 miles east of Cumaná Airport (SVCU) and lasted for 7 minutes. During this period, the aircraft covered a distance of 54 nautical miles. The enroute descent then began 7 miles northwest of Río de Agua Airport (SVRA), and the aircraft descended from 32,991 feet above sea level to 2,893 feet above sea level, a decrease of 30,098 feet, in 16 minutes and covering 90 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise, which started 4 miles southwest of Laventille, Trinidad and Tobago, and lasted for 4 minutes, covering a distance of 8 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 10 at Piarco International Airport (TTPP) was made from the west, with the aircraft heading 90 degrees at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,241 feet above ground level.
The landing on runway 10 was successful, with the touchdown point being 321 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 119 knots, which was good, and the touchdown rate was also good at -157 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius, with a wind speed of 6 knots at a direction of 120 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 3 knots and a headwind of 5 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,441 meters, which accounted for 45% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was perfect. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 333 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 62 minutes. The aircraft used 3,230 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft successfully landed at TTPP Piarco International Airport, achieving a high score of 96.2%. The final approach to runway 10 was conducted from the west, with a heading of 90.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,241 feet above ground level (agl).
The aircraft touched down on the runway, with a threshold speed that was slightly above the target at 138 knots. The touchdown point was located 321 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively safe distance. The touchdown speed of 119 knots was within the acceptable range, and the touchdown rate of -157 feet per minute (fpm) was also good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were favorable, with a temperature of 30°C and a wind speed of 6 knots at 120°. The crosswind component was minimal at 3 knots, while the headwind component was 5 knots. These conditions contributed to a stable and controlled approach.
The total landing distance of 1,441 meters was 45% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This indicates that the aircraft was able to touch down and come to a stop within a reasonable distance, without exceeding the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was perfect, with the aircraft maintaining a straight and stable path after touchdown.
Overall, the landing was successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and stability throughout the approach and touchdown phases.
