MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 6,370 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the first 6,370 ft of the 11,426 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 3,294 ft past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 9 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The Airbus A321 then departed from runway 10 at MMMD Aeropuerto Internacional Manuel Crescencio Rejón, with a takeoff distance of 6,898 feet, which was 73% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 159 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 94°F, with a wind speed of 4 knots at 150°.
As the aircraft climbed to its cruising altitude, it began its enroute climb 3 miles southeast of Merida, Estado de Yucatan, Mexico. The climb started at an altitude of 1,028 feet above sea level and reached a maximum altitude of 31,988 feet, an increase of 30,960 feet in 18 minutes, covering a distance of 99 nautical miles. The enroute level cruise then began 55 miles west of Celestun, Estado de Yucatan, Mexico, and lasted for 72 minutes, covering a distance of 486 nautical miles.
The enroute descent started 7 miles south of Santa Catarina, Estado de Guanajuato, Mexico, and descended from 32,247 feet to 6,869 feet, a decrease of 25,379 feet in 13 minutes, covering a distance of 29 nautical miles. The aircraft then began another enroute level cruise 3 miles west of Tequisquiapan, Estado de Queretaro, Mexico, which lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 4 nautical miles. The final enroute descent started 5 miles southwest of Palo Seco, Estado de Queretaro, Mexico, and descended from 7,314 feet to 6,811 feet, a decrease of 503 feet in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 5 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 27 at MMQT Queretaro Intercontinental Airport was made from the east, heading 281.0° at 3 nautical miles and 515 feet above ground level. The landing was made on runway 27, which had a length of 11,426 feet. The threshold height at 73 feet above ground level was well above the target, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 146 knots.
The touchdown point was 1,952 feet beyond the touchdown zone, and the touchdown speed was 132 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was firm at -399 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was excessively misaligned by 132 feet from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 71°F, with a wind speed of 2 knots at 192°.
The total landing distance was 6,126 feet, which was 54% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was excessively misaligned by 155 feet from the centerline. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway, a process that took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 632 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 117 minutes, with a fuel consumption of 11,439 pounds.
The Airbus A321 aircraft successfully landed at MMQT Querétaro Intercontinental Airport, but the landing was not without its issues. The final approach to runway 27 from the east was initiated at a height of 515 feet above ground level (agl) and a distance of 3 nautical miles from the runway. The aircraft was heading 281.0° at the time of the approach.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down 1,952 feet beyond the touchdown zone, which is a significant deviation from the target. The touchdown speed of 132 knots was also slightly above the target, indicating that the pilot may have been unable to fully arrest the aircraft's descent before touchdown. The touchdown rate of -399 feet per minute (fpm) was firm, suggesting that the aircraft did not experience any significant bounce or oscillation after touchdown.
One of the most notable issues with this landing was the excessive misalignment of the runway touchdown position, which was 132 feet off-centerline. This suggests that the pilot may have been unable to maintain a stable approach path or may have been affected by crosswind or other factors. The runway rollout alignment was also excessively misaligned by 155 feet from centerline, which could have made it difficult for the pilot to maintain control of the aircraft during the rollout phase.
The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were relatively calm, with a temperature of 71°F and a wind speed of 2 knots from 192°. This suggests that the wind was not a significant factor in the landing, and that other factors such as pilot error or aircraft performance may have been more influential.
Overall, while the Airbus A321 aircraft was able to land safely at MMQT Querétaro Intercontinental Airport, the landing was not without its issues. The excessive misalignment of the touchdown position and rollout alignment, combined with a slightly fast touchdown speed, suggest that the pilot may have been able to improve their performance with additional training or practice.
