Improve the rollout
A crosswind landing is a geometry problem. The air mass you're flying in is moving sideways across the runway, and you need your ground track down the centreline with your wheels aligned to it at the moment of contact. There are two techniques that will help, the crab and the sideslip.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
Two stabilised approach gates, each with six checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 2,643 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 585 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight in question was operated by a Cessna Citation X, registered as D-BLKB, and took off from runway 02 at KHFD Hartford Brainard Airport. The aircraft taxied from the parking area to the runway in 6 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The takeoff roll was completed in 794 meters, which was 76% of the runway length. The liftoff speed was 136 knots, and the local weather conditions at the time of departure were a temperature of -4°C, with a wind speed of 17 knots at 300°.
After takeoff, the aircraft began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile southwest of East Hartford, Connecticut. The climb was from 1,085 feet above sea level to 2,370 feet, an increase of 1,285 feet in just 1 minute, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then leveled off and cruised for 2 minutes, covering less than 1 nautical mile, before beginning another climb from 2,370 feet to 26,003 feet, an increase of 23,633 feet in 14 minutes, covering 49 nautical miles.
The aircraft then leveled off and cruised for 17 minutes, covering 107 nautical miles, before beginning its descent from 25,709 feet to 15,822 feet, a decrease of 9,886 feet in 3 minutes, covering 21 nautical miles. The aircraft then leveled off and cruised for 3 minutes, covering 21 nautical miles, before beginning another descent from 15,205 feet to 1,824 feet, a decrease of 13,381 feet in 7 minutes, covering 20 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 32 at KDOV Dover Air Force Base was made from the southeast, heading 306.0° at 4 nautical miles and 1,517 feet above ground level. The landing was completed on runway 32, which was 2,643 meters long. The threshold speed was 126 knots, and the touchdown point was 155 meters beyond the touchdown zone. The touchdown speed was 110 knots, and the touchdown rate was fair at -245 feet per minute. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, despite the local weather conditions, which included a temperature of -6°C, a wind speed of 18 knots at 270°, a crosswind of 11 knots, and a headwind of 15 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,058 meters, which was 40% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.9 meters from the centerline. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area from the runway in 2 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 231 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 59 minutes. The aircraft used 1,083 kilograms of fuel during the flight.
The Cessna Citation X aircraft, registered as D-BLKB, successfully landed at KDOV Dover Air Force Base on runway 32. The aircraft approached the runway from the southeast, heading 306.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,517 feet above ground level. The pilot executed a precise final approach, taking into account the local weather conditions, which included a temperature of -6°C and wind speeds of 18 kt at 270°.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft landed 155 meters beyond the designated touchdown zone, with a speed of 110 kt. The touchdown rate was fair at -245 feet per minute, indicating a relatively smooth landing. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, suggesting that the pilot maintained a stable and controlled approach.
The local weather conditions, including a moderate headwind of 15 kt and a crosswind of 11 kt, presented a challenge for the pilot. However, the pilot successfully managed the aircraft's descent and touchdown, resulting in a total landing distance of 1,058 meters, which is approximately 40% of the runway length. The runway rollout alignment was slightly misaligned by 9.9 meters from the centerline, but this was a minor deviation from the ideal alignment.
Overall, the pilot's performance was commendable, considering the challenging weather conditions and the aircraft's size and weight. The landing score of 94.1% reflects the pilot's skill and experience in executing a safe and controlled landing.
