MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Slow down before tight turns
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

Two stabilised approach gates, each with five checks, where the approach path is 1,000 ft and 500 ft above the runway.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,735 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,735 m of the 2,985 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 479 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Tokyo Haneda International Airport (RJTT), the Airbus A350-900 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took 9 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. As the aircraft lined up on runway 05, the local weather conditions were characterized by a temperature of 16 °C, with a wind speed of 13 kt at 19 °, resulting in a 5 kt crosswind and a 12 kt headwind.
As the aircraft departed, it accelerated to a liftoff speed of 150 kt, covering a takeoff distance of 1,186 meters, which was 48% of the runway length. The enroute climb phase commenced 2 miles east of RJTT, with the aircraft ascending from 1,013 ft to 40,910 ft in 12 minutes, covering a distance of 144 nautical miles. The climb phase was followed by a 7-minute level cruise at an altitude of 40,910 ft, during which the aircraft covered 152 nautical miles. The descent phase began 14 miles northeast of Hanawa, with the aircraft descending from 40,631 ft to 3,000 ft in 10 minutes, covering 124 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 01R at New Chitose Airport (RJCC) was initiated from the south, with the aircraft touching down 65 meters beyond the touchdown zone at a speed of 131 kt.
The landing distance of 1,656 meters was 55% of the runway length, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. The aircraft then taxied to the parking area, a process that took 2 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 450 nautical miles, and the flight duration was 46 minutes, during which the aircraft consumed 6,990 kg of fuel. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 2 °C, with a wind speed of 6 kt at 320 °, resulting in a 3 kt crosswind and a 5 kt headwind.
The aircraft touched down on runway 01R at RJCC New Chitose Airport with a firm touchdown rate of -372 fpm, slightly above the target rate. The touchdown speed of 131 kt was also a little fast, but the runway touchdown alignment was very good, indicating precise control during the final stages of the approach. The threshold height was good, and the threshold speed of 136 kt was slightly above the target, but still within acceptable limits.
As the aircraft continued down the runway, it maintained a very good centerline alignment, demonstrating smooth and controlled deceleration. The total landing distance of 1,656 m was 55% of the runway length, which is within the acceptable range. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 2 °C and a headwind of 5 kt, did not significantly impact the landing performance.
The overall landing performance was excellent, with a score of 97.0%. The approach quality was good, with a stable and controlled descent, and the touchdown characteristics were well-managed. The rollout alignment was also very good, indicating a smooth and controlled transition from the landing phase to the taxi phase. The landing was a credit to the pilot's skill and experience, and demonstrated a high level of proficiency in executing a safe and efficient landing.
