Monitor your taxi speed
Twenty knots on a monitor produces the visual sensation of about ten. The advice to "taxi at a walking pace" cannot fix this, because your sense of walking pace is exactly the thing that's broken. Put the groundspeed readout in your scan and obey it for the next fifty flights, the way a student pilot leans on the airspeed indicator before learning to read attitude.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 300 ft gate: off the centreline.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 3,465 ft of the approach.
Plan view — the full 3,465 ft runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 1,326 ft touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Taxiing from the parking area to the runway at U60 Big Creek Airport took approximately 2 minutes, covering a distance of 1 nautical mile. The aircraft, a Beechcraft A36 Bonanza, then began its departure roll on runway 19, utilizing 35% of the available runway length to achieve liftoff at a speed of 83 kt. Local weather conditions at the time of departure featured a temperature of 51 °F, with a wind of 23 kt at 252°, resulting in a crosswind of 17 kt and a headwind of 15 kt.
Following a brief climb from 6,755 ft asl to 7,010 ft asl, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, maintaining an altitude of 7,010 ft asl for 2 minutes while covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. A subsequent climb phase saw the aircraft ascend from 7,396 ft asl to 8,013 ft asl, an increase of 617 ft in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its descent, reducing altitude from 8,001 ft asl to 6,809 ft asl, a decrease of 1,192 ft in 2 minutes, covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. The final approach to runway 17 at 3U2 Johnson Creek Airport was executed from the north, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 68 kt and a touchdown distance of 1,319 ft, utilizing 62% of the available runway length.
The landing was characterized by a good threshold height, with the threshold speed slightly above target at 80 kt. The touchdown rate was excellent at -72 fpm, and the runway touchdown alignment was very good. Following touchdown, the aircraft's rollout alignment was also very good. The total flight distance was 18 nautical miles, taking approximately 13 minutes to complete, and the aircraft utilized 11 pounds of fuel during the flight.
The final approach to runway 17 at 3U2 Johnson Creek Airport from the north was executed with precision, with the aircraft maintaining a heading of 191.0° at 0 nm and 273 ft above ground level. The approach quality was satisfactory, with a good threshold height achieved. However, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 80 kt, indicating a slight deviation from the optimal landing speed.
As the aircraft touched down on the runway, the touchdown distance was good at 1,319 ft, and the touchdown speed of 68 kt was within acceptable limits. The touchdown rate of -72 fpm was excellent, demonstrating a smooth and controlled descent. The runway touchdown alignment was very good, with the aircraft centered on the runway. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 51°F and wind at 23 kt from 252°, resulted in a crosswind of 20 kt and a headwind of 11 kt.
The total landing distance of 2,140 ft was 62% of the runway length, indicating a safe and controlled rollout. The runway rollout alignment was very good, with the aircraft maintaining its centerline alignment throughout the rollout phase. Overall, the landing was executed with a high degree of proficiency, resulting in a score of 94.0%.
