Departure
Use smoother, smaller aileron inputs to keep the wings level and hold bank angle near wings-level during the climb.
What happened: During the climb, bank angle rose to 2.5°, more roll than the climb out called for.
Watch for: Attitude indicator: wings level during the climb
A good takeoff has a defined shape. It also has a defined end. For an airliner that's thrust reduction and acceleration, commonly somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 ft above the airfield depending on the operator, while for a light aircraft it's established at Vy with the flaps on schedule. Most simmers have no defined end to their takeoff, which is exactly why it never gets judged.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: seven checks where the approach path is 300 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
At the 300 ft gate: off the centreline.
The approach, gate by gate
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 1,962 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 316 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
Departing from Dortmund Airport, the Cessna C172 began its journey by taxiing from the parking area to the runway, a process that took approximately 7 minutes and covered less than 1 nautical mile. Upon reaching runway 06, the aircraft initiated its departure roll, utilizing 366 meters, or 26% of the runway, to achieve liftoff at a speed of 67 knots. The local weather conditions at the time were characterized by a temperature of 10°C, with a gentle wind of 2 knots at 30°, resulting in a negligible crosswind component and a moderate headwind.
As the aircraft cleared the departure airport, it began its enroute climb, ascending from an initial altitude of 600 feet above sea level to 1,857 feet, a gain of 1,258 feet in just 1 minute, while covering a distance of 2 nautical miles. Following this climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, maintaining an altitude of 1,857 feet for 17 minutes as it covered a distance of 32 nautical miles. The enroute descent phase commenced 2 miles southeast of Greven, where the aircraft descended from 1,720 feet to 384 feet above sea level, a decrease of 1,336 feet in 3 minutes, while covering a distance of 4 nautical miles.
Upon approaching Münster Osnabrück Airport, the aircraft initiated its final approach to runway 07, aligning itself with the runway at a heading of 71.0° and an altitude of 220 feet above ground level. The landing was executed successfully, with the aircraft touching down at a speed of 52 knots and a touchdown distance of 307 meters. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 4.4 meters. Following the landing, the aircraft taxied to the parking area, a process that took less than 1 minute and covered less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 39 nautical miles, with a total flight time of 25 minutes and a fuel consumption of 13 kilograms.
The Cessna C172 aircraft successfully executed a final approach to runway 07 at EDDG Münster Osnabrück Airport from the west, aligning with the heading of 71.0° at 0 nm and 220 ft above ground level. The approach quality was excellent, with a good threshold height and a threshold speed of 60 kt, well within the acceptable range. As the aircraft descended onto the runway, it touched down at a speed of 52 kt, which was also within the desired parameters. The touchdown distance of 307 m was good, and the touchdown rate of -85 fpm was exceptional, indicating a smooth and controlled landing.
Upon touchdown, the aircraft's centreline alignment was slightly off, deviating by 4.4 m from the centreline. However, this minor deviation did not significantly impact the overall performance of the landing. The local weather conditions, with a temperature of 12 °C and a gentle wind of 4 kt at 19°, contributed to a relatively stable and predictable approach. The crosswind component of 3 kt and the headwind component of 2 kt were minimal, allowing the pilot to maintain control and precision throughout the approach.
The overall performance of the landing was outstanding, with a score of 99.8%. The combination of a good threshold height, a well-controlled touchdown speed, and an excellent touchdown rate, along with a relatively minor deviation from the centreline, contributed to this high score. The pilot's skill and experience were evident in the smooth and controlled execution of the landing, making it a successful and efficient operation.
