MY FS FLIGHTS
Flight Score
Work on the flare
Arrive slow and the sink rate at the threshold is already above schedule, the flare is short because there is no energy to extend it, and the touchdown is hard in a way that feels exactly like a late flare. Diagnosing a slow arrival as a late flare is the catastrophic misread: you respond by flaring earlier, which bleeds more speed, which makes the next one worse. The tiebreaker is threshold speed against VRef, not feel. Never diagnose a flare without it.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,907 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,907 m of the 3,037 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
Touched down 753 m past the threshold — beyond the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with a taxiing period from the parking to the runway, which took 13 minutes and covered a distance of 3 nautical miles. The aircraft then departed from runway 29 at LOWW Vienna International Airport, with a takeoff distance of 1,234 meters, which was 35% of the runway. The liftoff speed was 146 knots.
The local weather conditions at the time of departure were characterized by a temperature of 2°C, with a wind speed of 6 knots at 182 degrees. This resulted in a crosswind of 5 knots and a tailwind of 2 knots. The aircraft then began its enroute climb, starting 1 mile northwest of LOWW Vienna International Airport, and climbed from 1,600 feet above sea level to 28,344 feet above sea level, an increase of 26,744 feet in 14 minutes, covering a distance of 72 nautical miles.
Following the enroute climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, starting 1 mile southwest of Baumgartenberg, Austria, and lasted for 18 minutes, covering a distance of 126 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its enroute descent, starting overhead EDMX Oberschleissheim Heliport, Germany, and descended from 29,189 feet above sea level to 10,727 feet above sea level, a decrease of 18,461 feet in 11 minutes, covering a distance of 61 nautical miles.
The aircraft then entered another level cruise phase, starting 1 mile northeast of Heidenheim an der Brenz, Germany, and lasted for 2 minutes, covering a distance of 10 nautical miles. The aircraft then began its final descent, starting 1 mile north of Bohmenkirch, Germany, and descended from 10,375 feet above sea level to 2,938 feet above sea level, a decrease of 7,437 feet in 7 minutes, covering a distance of 24 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 25 at EDDS Stuttgart Airport was made from the east, heading 255.0 degrees at 3 nautical miles and 1,693 feet above ground level. However, a go-around was initiated at 1,353 feet above ground level. The aircraft then landed on runway 25 at EDDS Stuttgart Airport, with a runway length of 3,037 meters. The threshold height was above the target, and the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 137 knots.
The touchdown point was 337 meters beyond the touchdown zone, with a touchdown speed of 130 knots, which was a little fast. The touchdown rate was fair at -226 feet per minute. The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.9 meters from the centerline. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 5°C, with a wind speed of 6 knots at 200 degrees, resulting in a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,827 meters, which was 60% of the runway. The runway rollout alignment was misaligned by 16.7 meters from the centerline. The taxiing period from the runway to the parking took 3 minutes and covered a distance of less than 1 nautical mile. The total flight distance was 304 nautical miles, taking 87 minutes, and the aircraft used 2,447 kilograms of fuel.
The aircraft in question, an E195, successfully landed at EDDS Stuttgart Airport on runway 25. The final approach was initiated from the east, heading 255.0° at a distance of 3 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,693 feet above ground level (agl). The aircraft's performance during the landing was evaluated, and it scored 84.2%.
Upon landing, the aircraft's threshold height was found to be above the target, indicating that the aircraft touched down slightly higher than intended. Additionally, the threshold speed was slightly above the target at 137 knots, suggesting that the aircraft may have been slightly faster than necessary during the landing. The touchdown point was 337 meters beyond the touchdown zone, which is a relatively significant deviation.
The touchdown speed of 130 knots was a little fast, indicating that the aircraft may have been experiencing some drag or other factors that contributed to the higher speed. The touchdown rate of -226 feet per minute (fpm) was considered fair, suggesting that the aircraft's descent was relatively smooth but not ideal.
During the landing, the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.9 meters from the centerline, which may have contributed to the deviation from the intended touchdown zone. The local weather conditions at the time of the landing were characterized by a temperature of 5°C, a wind speed of 6 knots at 200°, with a crosswind of 5 knots and a headwind of 3 knots.
The total landing distance was 1,827 meters, which is 60% of the runway length. This suggests that the aircraft was able to stop relatively quickly after touchdown, but the rollout alignment was misaligned by 16.7 meters from the centerline. Overall, the landing was considered satisfactory, but there were some areas for improvement, particularly in terms of touchdown speed and alignment.
