Know your rotation speed
A typical trainer rotates in the mid-50s of knots - a 172 at around 55 KIAS, climbing out at a Vy in the low 70s, though check your own POH rather than memorising Cessna's numbers - and the transferable rule is that Vr sits just above the stall speed in takeoff configuration. Rotate early because "it felt ready" and the aircraft lifts off inside ground effect, where induced drag is reduced, then climbs out of it into more drag. On a marginal-performance day the result is an aircraft that lifts off and then refuses to climb, sagging back towards the runway.

The threshold, the flare and the hold-off. The approach that led to it is the stabilisation gates below.
One stabilised approach gate: five checks where the approach path is 500 ft above the runway. The 1,000 ft gate was not assessed, because the approach did not join final that far out.
Side view — the last 1,524 m of the approach.
Plan view — the first 1,524 m of the 3,287 m runway, to the same scale as the side view.
The 431 m touchdown sits inside the full-score zone. The arrival was smooth.
The rest of the report
The flight began with the aircraft taxiing from the parking area to the runway at LOWS Salzburg Airport, a process that took 6 minutes and covered a distance of 1 nautical mile. The departure roll took place on runway 33, with the aircraft taking off after covering 36% of the runway's length. The takeoff distance was 833 meters, and the liftoff speed was 160 knots.
As the aircraft took to the skies, it encountered local weather conditions of 23°C temperature and a wind speed of 11 knots at 350°. The crosswind was minimal at 2 knots, while the headwind was 11 knots. The enroute climb started overhead LOWS Salzburg Airport, with the aircraft ascending from 2,442 feet above sea level to 31,643 feet above sea level, a total increase of 29,201 feet in just 10 minutes. This climb covered a distance of 88 nautical miles.
Following the climb, the aircraft entered a level cruise phase, which began 1 mile northeast of Stamsried in Bavaria, Germany. This phase lasted for 31 minutes and covered a distance of 403 nautical miles. The aircraft then started its enroute descent, which began 1 mile northeast of Gantofta in Skane County, Sweden. The descent took the aircraft from 31,594 feet above sea level to 1,766 feet above sea level, a decrease of 29,828 feet in 17 minutes. This descent covered a distance of 98 nautical miles.
The final approach to runway 03 at ESGG Göteborg Landvetter Airport was made from the southwest, with the aircraft heading at 26.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and 1,264 feet above ground level. The landing took place on runway 03, which had a length of 3,287 meters. The threshold height was slightly above the target, but the threshold speed was good at 121 knots. The touchdown distance was also good at 432 meters, although the touchdown speed was a little fast at 114 knots. The touchdown rate was fair at -215 feet per minute, and the runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned by 5.4 meters from the centerline.
The local weather conditions at the time of landing were 18°C temperature and a wind speed of 12 knots at 290°, with a crosswind of 12 knots and a tailwind of 1 knot. The total landing distance was 1,374 meters, which accounted for 42% of the runway's length. The runway rollout alignment was very good, and the aircraft was able to taxi to the parking area in just 3 minutes, covering a distance of less than 1 nautical mile.
In total, the flight covered a distance of 596 nautical miles and lasted for 69 minutes, using 595 kilograms of fuel.
The Airbus A320 successfully landed at ESGG Göteborg Landvetter Airport, achieving a score of 97.9%. The aircraft approached the runway from the southwest, heading 26.0° at a distance of 4 nautical miles and an altitude of 1,264 feet above ground level (agl). The final approach was made to runway 03, which has a length of 3,287 meters.
Upon landing, the aircraft touched down at a speed of 114 knots, which was slightly faster than the target speed. The touchdown distance of 432 meters was considered good, indicating a smooth and controlled descent. However, the touchdown rate of -215 feet per minute (fpm) was only fair, suggesting that the aircraft could have been brought down more gently.
The runway touchdown position was slightly misaligned from the centerline by 5.4 meters, which may have been due to factors such as wind or pilot error. The local weather conditions at the time of landing were characterized by a temperature of 18°C and a wind speed of 12 knots from a direction of 290°. This resulted in a crosswind of 12 knots and a tailwind of 1 knot.
The total landing distance of 1,374 meters was 42% of the runway length, which is a relatively short distance. This suggests that the aircraft was able to land smoothly and efficiently, with minimal loss of speed or control. The runway rollout alignment was very good, indicating that the aircraft was able to maintain a stable and controlled path after touchdown.
Overall, the landing was considered successful, with the aircraft achieving a high score and demonstrating good control and precision. However, there were some minor issues with the touchdown speed and rate, as well as the runway touchdown position, which may be areas for improvement in future landings.
